Married At First Sight’s Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels have opened up about what really went down at the couples retreat, revealing that friendships were pushed to the brink as tensions boiled over.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, the reality TV couple admitted that while the retreat was meant to be a ‘circuit breaker,’ it quickly turned into a pressure cooker, exposing fractures in relationships and testing alliances among the cast.
‘It was good to get out of the bubble,’ Rhi said.
‘But spending every hour of the day together really does take people out of their comfort zone. It definitely tested relationships โ both marriages and friendships.’
Jeff echoed her sentiments, adding, ‘I think the friendships were tested more than the relationships to be honest.ย
‘Whenever we get into a group environment, fireworks happen, and this week was no different.’

Meanwhile, the couple reflected on their own journey, admitting they felt grateful to be in a strong position amidst the ongoing chaos.’ย
‘Watching all the drama unfold around you, you feel grateful for your own relationship,’ Rhi said.
‘At the start, we thought there was no hope of progressing, but we’ve come a long way.’
Another unexpected twist from the retreat was the rising tensions between Clint Rice and his bride Lauren Hall, with the once-supported bride suddenly finding herself at odds with the group.
‘Lauren’s very headstrong and unapologetic with her opinions,’ Rhi revealed.ย
‘She doesn’t care who she upsets, and you’ll definitely see that play out in the next few days.’
Jeff, who has been observing Clint’s predicament, added, ‘Clint’s in a tough spot.ย
‘You always want to support your partner, even when you might not agree with everything they’re doing’ he said.ย

As for what’s next, the couple teased more explosive moments ahead. ‘Everyone’s involved in the drama this week,’ Jeff said.ย
‘There’s no escaping it.’
During the interview, Rhi also opened up about the pressure ofย balancing normal life with newfound fame.
‘One minute you’re in a makeup chair on live TV, and the next minute I’m putting groceries into the car and doing all the PA things that I do for my friends. So yeah, it’s like I’ve got two different hats,’ she laughed.
Meanwhile Jeff admitted things look a bit different for him: ‘You’re on TV one minute, and the next I’m taking the ladder off the car and walking into a construction site.’
Elsewhere the couple admitted they were feeling a rollercoaster of emotions watching back their experience.
‘You kind of have to take a deep breath and remind yourself that it’s already done and dusted. But it still brings up a lot of feelings that you felt at that time,’ Rhi admitted.ย
‘Itโs a very strange experience because it happened a while ago, but watching it all unfold again makes the emotions feel fresh.’
