Furious Married At First Sight viewers have been left outrage by Channel Nine’s controversial decision to allow groom Paul Antoine to remain on the show after his violent outburst this week.
On Wednesday, the 31-year-old FIFO worker admitted he became so enraged after his wife Carina Mirabile told him she had once slept with US rapper Quevo, heĀ punched a door in frustration.
Influencer Mia Findlay has joined a chorus of viewers slamming Nine for allowing Paul to stay on the series and continue to date Carina.
‘Hey MAFS producers, it actually doesn’t matter if the man who punched a hole in the wall because of an issue with his partner wants to stay on the show,’ Findlay said in a TikTok video.
‘Or even if the woman you paired him up with wants him to stay. If you’re going to broadcast violence in a relationship, there needs to be immediate consequences.’Ā
Findlay reminded viewers Australia was facing a domestic violence crisis and Nine should have set an example by evicting Paul from the show.

‘101 women were murdered by men last year, many by men they were in relationships with. You have a duty of care not only to her and to the other women on the show, but to your audience who are watching this,’ she said.
‘This is having it further normalised that this is separate from a man hitting or murdering a woman. This is one more step in escalation. If they don’t do the right thing in this instance, get this show off the air.’
Many of Findlay’s followers took to the comments section to share their agreement.
‘MAFS, are you watching? Your choice in contestants is appalling this year. Get off the air or change the behaviour,’ one person vented.
‘Abusive men don’t start by hitting their partner, they start by hitting near them. This is dangerous and absolutely should not be tolerated,’ a second user added.
‘MAFS is literally a misogyny factory,’ a third person sniped.
Channel Nine told Daily Mail Australia they are providing support to the couple.
‘Nine and Endemol Shine Australia has treated this matter extremely seriously. Our first priority at all times has been the wellbeing and safety of the participants and after extensive consultation with Carina, she wanted to remain in the experiment with Paul. We continue to provide support for Carina and Paul,’ they said in a statement.

Earlier this week,Ā Paul’s fate on the show was revealed after he admitted to punching a door in rage during an argument with Carina in their apartment.Ā
After the controversial moment aired fans of the show called for him to be immediately axed from the series.
However, photos taken by Daily Mail Australia reveal Paul will remain on the show with his ‘wife’ Carina.
The images, captured during filming back in October, show the couple holding hands while arriving to the next dinner party.
The incident has been described as one of theĀ most shocking moments in MAFS history.
Wednesday’s controversial episode opened with Carina and Paul waking up in separate apartments after spending a fun day out with Rhi and Jeff.
‘I felt anxious waking up this morning, a little bit on edge and sad,’ Carina admitted.
She then explained the foursome had been enjoying a ‘lovey dovey’ day out in the sun.
But tensions rose during the UberĀ trip back home when Carina revealed she had once slept with a rapper.
Paul had an issue with Carina’s confession and she attempted an apology when they returned to the apartment.
‘I was cuddling him and he was like, “I need space,”‘ Carina said to camera.
‘He obviously didn’t like that. I went to bed and that’s when he got angry, punched a wall.’
Putting forward his version of events, Paul admitted he lost his cool during the confrontation, subtly blaming Carina for his actions.Ā
‘I just completely lost my nerves. She couldn’t give me my space and I just absolutely lost it… ended up punching a hole in the wall,’ he said.Ā
The pair then sat down to hash out the previous night’s fracas and Paul placed some of the blame for his actions on Carina for not giving him space.Ā Ā Ā Ā
Carina refuted Paul’s claims: ‘I didn’t do that. You’re so dramatic, it’s p***ing me off,’ she said and Paul doubled down with:Ā ‘So, I punched a wall for nothing?’
Paul’s outburst was slammed by everyone on the show and expertsĀ John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla, who agreed his actions were ‘unacceptable’.
