More than three decades after playing Kevin McAllister in the 1990 classic Home Alone, Macaulay Culkin is channeling that character in a new Uber Eats ad.
The 44-year-old actor was just 10 years old when Home Alone hit theaters, following his adventures as he was left behind from a Christmas trip and forced to defend his home against two thieves (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).
Now Culkin is returning to that beloved character again with the new ad, debuting on Uber Eats YouTube on Thursday.
The ad begins with Culkin – clad in a white cable knit sweater, jeans and brown slippers – sitting by a fireplace as a narrator says, ‘Macaulay Culkin sits by a warm, crackling fire, as he ponders his thoughts.’
A title card reveals, ‘Introducing Carolers Only on Uber Eats, as he says, ‘I remember the last time I’ve had the house to myself over the holidays,’ alluding to Home Alone.
The narrator adds, ‘Ah, memories. He enjoys the peaceful bliss and then an urge awakens,’ as he says, ‘You know what? I’m hungry.’

He presses a button on the app and says, ‘Sing to me,’ when just a moment later, the doorbell rings.
He opens the door and finds two men and a woman singing Jingle Bells as the woman hands him an Uber Eats bag with his food.
He revels in listening to their beloved holiday tune as the ad reveals that Uber Eats users will be able to order carolers themselves on December 7.
The carolers leave and Macaulay says, ‘What do you know, they were pretty good,’ before going back into his home with the food as the ad comes to an end.
An Uber Eats press release reveals the company is teaming up with Diageo, where, ‘a troupe of talented carolers will arrive at your home, office or holiday party to deliver cheer along with the finest festive spirits.’
This new option will only be available in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, and Washington, D.C. starting on Saturday, December 7.
Uber Eats users in these cities can tap on the Carolers store and request the experience, which also comes with alcoholic beverages.
