Speaking to The Sun, one pal explained: ‘Luke Shaw is used to the backlash he gets on a daily basis and has people joking around with him about the fact he gets paid more for being off the pitch than he does on the pitch as heโs always injured.
‘Even though the TikTok video was filmed at a private gathering, it ended up going viral, but Luke didnโt have a problem with it.
‘To him, it was just a bit of light-hearted fun. He’s so used to the abuse he doesn’t let it bother him.’
The team is currently languishing in 13th in the Premier League after a run of four consecutive defeats and a draw against Liverpool on Sunday.
Luke has been restricted to just 68 minutes of top flight action this season, with the left back having endured an injury hit 2024.
Reacting to the TikTok, fans took to X to fume: ‘This is not acceptable of any Manchester United player especially one whose contributions minimal.’;
‘Manchester United in the worst form of my lifetime and Luke Shaw is doing TikTok’s with Molly Mae’;
‘Scrolling on tiktok and I can’t believe whose just told my that my mum is on benefits whilst my club is fighting relegation omds my head is hot.’;

‘There has to be a sense of professionalism. This player in particular has been unavailable for the equivalent of four years whilst making ยฃ150,000pw. We are 14th’.
‘Luke Shaw doing TikTok’s with Molly Mae, he would never play again if Fergie was still in charge. Embarrassing club?!’
The left-back is father to three children, Reign, Storie and Lumie with his long-term partner Anouska, who is one of Molly-Mae’s best friends.
Luke signed for Manchester United in 2014 for a then world-record ยฃ30million transfer fee.ย
But, injuries restricted him to just eight Man United appearances in 2024, while he played three times for England at Euro 2024.ย
Last month, Luke shared an emotional statement on social media after confirming he had suffered a ‘small setback’.
He wrote: ‘Hi guys, itโs hurting a lot having to write this as I really thought I had got through my recent struggles and was on a positive path going forward, but unfortunately Iโve had a small setback.
‘Iโve been through a lot and had a lot of ups and downs but this has definitely been my toughest period.
