Luann de Lesseps shared the story of how she lost her virginity in a candid new interview.
The RHONY alum, 59, revealed that she was a ‘late bloomer’ who ‘didn’t feel confident’ while discussing her dating history with Bustle, in an article published on Wednesday.
The TV personality — who was recently linked to Mary-Kate Olsen’s ex-husband — admitted she did not have a ‘boyfriend or have sex until I was 18 years old’ and that she lost her virginity at senior prom to an ‘older’ man.
‘Yeah, I calculated it. We had sex in the car, which is so prom. Jim was older than me but he was very handsome and sweet,’ she shared.
‘I thought he was the perfect guy to lose my virginity to because he was good-natured. So that was a great experience, actually. Then it just went on from there: the love affair with boys,’ the star added.

Speaking about her low confidence as a teenager she said: ‘I was a late bloomer. I didn’t feel confident in my teens. I was taller than all the boys.’
‘I remember a boy actually saying, “It’s too bad you’re so tall, because you have such a pretty face.” So I didn’t really have a boyfriend or have sex until I was 18 years old. At prom.’
These days, the star admits she dates ‘like a man’ and knows what she wants in a relationship.
She also stated that low libido is not something she struggles with, proclaiming, ‘I love men and I love sex.’
As for her preference in men, Luann admits she sets her sights abroad and on younger men.
‘I love European men. I love Latin men. Americans are tricky,’ the beauty shared, adding that she is living her ‘best cougar life right now.’
The former nurse also offered insights on how intimacy can vary depending on a partner’s age.
‘So the 30-somethings and 40-somethings are into my stuff. The 50-somethings are like, “Oh, s**t, I’m 50. I have to date a 20-year-old.” And the 60-year-olds have a problem in the, as Ramona [Singer] would call it, “lower level.”‘

Luann has recently been linked to Southern Hospitality’s Joe Bradley, 28.
During the interview she was asked about Summer House star Danielle Olivera, who said she believes Luann hooked up with Joe, after they met on Watch What Happens Live.
Luann shared that Joe had been to her apartment but she also had other friends there at the time, and that he did not stay the night.
However, when asked if she wanted to admit to anything Luann teased, ‘a lady doesn’t kiss and tell’ before calling him ‘very charming and very mature for such a young man’ and later even sharing he was her Bravo crush.
Luann also set the record straight after she made headlines with Mary-Kate Olsen’s ex-husband, Olivier Sarkozy, 55.
Luann and Olivier — who is the half-brother of Nicolas Sarkozy, the former President of France — sparked romance rumors in March, as they were spotted enjoying a cozy two-hour lunch in New York City.
She said she had known him for ‘quite a while’ and met Mary-Kate and him together a couple times.
The star then said she has not seen him since the lunch date, adding, ‘I’m just dating and having fun, and I’m traveling a lot with the cabaret show.’
Luann was married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps for 16 years before their split in 2009. She was then married to Tom D’Agostino from 2016 until their divorce in 2017; Seen with Alexandre in 2007
She also shared that by the time she met her ex-husband Count Alexandre de Lesseps, her sense of confidence was strong.
‘We met, got married two weeks later. Five days [into the marriage] he goes, “You’re going to be the mother of my children.” I said, “I already know that.” So it had a lot to do with confidence. If you don’t think you’re great, nobody is going to think you’re great.’
De Lesseps and Alexandre were married for 16 years before their split in 2009.
She was then married to Tom D’Agostino from 2016 until their divorce the next year in August 2017.
