Gemma Owen’s famous footballer dad Michael Owen has revealed what he has in store for his family this Christmas and it looks like it could be an expensive one.
Michael, 43, told The Mirror that he doesn’t do anything half-heartedly when it comes to his family during Christmas.
This year the former professional footballer claimed he is bringing caterers into his home to rustle up a festive feast for up to 30 people.
During the interview, Michael admitted that he has a large family and hosts Christmas dinner every year.
However, he has now revealed that he is doing things differently to spend some more quality time with his family on Christmas day.
Lavish Christmas: Gemma Owen ‘s famous footballer dad Michael Owen has revealed what he has in store for his family this Christmas and it looks like it could be an expensive one
He said: ‘So I have all my brothers, sisters, parents, Louise’s brother, parents and all their children. So we host anything from 25 to 30 people for every year, which is a lovely thing to be able to do. Do I get stuck in with the cooking? Absolutely not. It’s the one extravagance, I think it’s the best investment of the year, and that is to get a chef, the caterers
‘We used to do ‘mum, you’re doing the starters’ and ‘mother-in-law you’re doing the mains’, and by the end of it, you have Christmas dinner, you set out places for 30 people and there’s only about 5 people there because everybody is rushing around. It’s just pointless. So I said ‘Right, we are going to get caterers’, and it’s the best money I spend every single year is to get a few people in to come and cook.’
The pundit also added that he is the ‘life and soul of the party’ and loves to be a fantastic host to any guests.
‘I am probably the life and soul of the party. I’m a right attention seeker. It has all got to be about me, if we are hosting, I’m the one starting the games, or dancing on top of the tables.’ He joked.
It comes after the former Newcastle United star collaborated with Peacocks earlier this year to bring out his clothing line.
The range includes everything from basic T-shirts to sophisticated dress wear.
The clothing line promises a range of ‘wardrobe essentials and stylish staples that won’t break the bank’.
However, once the clothing line launched fans of the footballer labelled Michael ‘beyond partridge’ and cringed at the England legend for fronting a new fashion range from Peacocks.

One harsh fan joked: ‘A rare perfect brand/personality match.’
While another added: ‘Oh my God. The horror of mundanity.’
Fans of the footballer also jokingly compared Michael to comic character Alan Partridge who is a wacky broadcaster in sports casual clothing.
One viewer who saw the Peacocks advert claimed that it was ‘beyond partridge’ while another viewer quipped ‘so partridge’.
