While most of his co-stars are still chasing fame, Love Island Australia’s Zac Nunns has been making waves of a very different kind.
The TV personality, 26, who shot to notoriety during his stint on the Channel Nine dating show, has revealed he has swapped the bright lights of television for a meaningful role giving back to the community.
Zac recently spearheaded a health and well-being initiative with Merri-Bek city’s Salvation Army, called Made to Move.
‘I recently had the opportunity to run a program called Made to Move for the Merri-Bek Salvation Army,’ he told Daily Mail.
‘One of the organisers there reached out with the idea of creating a fitness-based program that could bring the community together, and I was tasked with designing and leading it.’
The five-week program was far from a typical workout class, with participants ranging from those struggling with mental health, to individuals recovering from substance abuse, to migrants still learning English.

‘What united them was a need for connection, and fitness became the tool we used to build that,’ Zac explained.
Each week, Zac led sessions built around progressive overload – a method that gradually increased in difficulty while remaining inclusive and safe.
At the end of the course, every participant was awarded a certificate of completion.
‘It was a proud moment for them and for me,’ Zac said. ‘The real success, though, was seeing people grow in confidence, connect with others, and feel part of something positive.’
The 2023 Love Island finalist admitted the program was unlike anything he had ever done before – but it left a lasting impact.
‘For me, it was a rewarding opportunity to bring my expertise into an environment I’m not normally part of.
‘It reminded me how powerful fitness can be when it’s about more than just training – when it becomes a vehicle for building relationships and supporting people who might not otherwise have access to that kind of community.’
Zac added that he hopes similar programs will be rolled out nationwide.

‘I’d love to see programs like this across more Salvation Army and community centres around Australia. The positivity it brought to Merri-Bek was incredible to witness, and it was humbling to be a part of something bigger than myself.’
Zac previously made headlines when he announced that he is forging a new path following his stint on reality TV by prioritising authenticity over flashy brand deals.
‘I don’t want to rely on other people’s branding to dictate how I influence people,’ Zac said in a candid interview.
‘I want to give a message that aligns with my beliefs and helps people. I posted a couple of ads immediately after the show that didn’t align with who I was, and I felt dirty afterwards.
‘If I influence people, it shouldn’t be to buy products that I don’t actually use – like most influencers do.’
He’s now sharing his health and fitness insights with fans, offering practical tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
He recommends increasing incidental exercise, explaining: ‘Take the stairs instead of the escalator or park further away from the supermarket.’
Zac also said it’s important to ‘include a good source of protein in every meal to support muscle growth and a healthy weight.’
It comes after Zac opened up about his tumultuous relationship with his Love Island co-star Lucinda Strafford (pictured) during a recent episode of The Trent and Zac Show podcast
‘Ensure each meal has at least three of the five food groups,’ he continued.
He also explained the benefits of resistance training, adding: ‘Commit to 2-3 sessions a week to improve muscle growth, fat loss, and overall quality of life.’
It’s also important to ‘drink 2-3 litres of water daily for better skin, muscle health, and organ function.’
Zac also explained the benefits of ‘getting eight hours of quality sleep by avoiding screens before bed and incorporating activities like journaling or reading.’
He continued: ‘Plan your meals the night before to avoid unhealthy temptations.’
‘If you’re not sure how to structure these changes, a personal trainer can help you set realistic goals and keep you accountable,’ Zac added.

He revealed their relationship ended after discovering Lucinda had been communicating with another man during their time together.
‘I broke up with her because this is just too much… this isn’t what someone who loves me would do,’ Zac shared.
Daily Mail does not suggest Lucinda was unfaithful to Zac.
