Louise Thompson and Ryan Libbey enjoyed glamourous date night at The Nutcracker Opening Night at The Royal Opera House on Saturday.

The couple, who share a son, Leo, four, looked happier than ever as they arrived arm in arm.

For the outing, Louise, 35, looked chic in a sophisticated V-neck red dress which featured long sleeves.

Louise recently revealed she will never be able to have another child following the severe birth trauma she suffered four years ago.

Louise, who now campaigns for women’s health and maternity rights, nearly died giving birth to her Leo in 2021, and developed post-traumatic stress as a result of the horrific complications she endured.

She has now revealed that her injuries – which include developing Asherman’s Syndrome, in which scar tissue in the uterus becomes ‘glued’ together, worsening bowel problems and emergency surgery after a post-natal haemorrhage.

This means that she cannot carry another child.

After speaking about her ordeal to the Birth Trauma All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) in the summer, Louise – who serialised her memoirs in The Mail on Sunday’s You magazine last year – teamed up with former Conservative MP Theo Clarke.

Louise and Ms Clarke set up the APPG and led the first national inquiry into birth trauma.

Together they are launching a petition in two weeks’ time calling on the Government to appoint a commissioner to oversee maternity care – and they hope to reach the 100,000 signatures required to prompt a Parliamentary debate.

Louise told this newspaper that a generation of women are being put off having children after reading horror stories.

She said: ‘It’s something that a lot of people within my circle are talking about fairly regularly – the population problems we have.

‘Thousands of women are crying out to me about this topic. Speaking on my own personal experience, I won’t be able to carry another child.’

‘So immediately that puts us in a position where we are part of that problem now.’
