Activewear mogul Lorna Jane Clarkson has made another significant property investment in Byron Bay.
The brains behind iconic brand Lorna Jane has spent a whopping $10.98 million to acquire the SOMA wellness retreat.
The 21-acre estate is perhaps best known for providing the backdrop for the Nicole Kidman series Nine Perfect Strangers.
Lorna, who is worth a reported $303 million, told the Australian Financial Review that the property was too good to pass up.
‘It’s a magical place,’ she said.
‘I feel like it’s the perfect space to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect. Wellness is growing, and when we found out SOMA was on the market, we just jumped at it.’

Lorna added that she has no plans to change the sprawling estate, and will maintain its current operations while exploring the possibility of corporate retreats, conferences and podcast recordings.
It was also reported that the $10.98 million price tag set a new record for the Byron Bay hamlet of Ewingsdale.
Owners Peter Ostick, a tech businessman, and Gary Garrow, a meditation expert, built the property known as Soma in 2019 after snapping up the nine-hectare site in 2016 for a mere $1.8 million.
Situated in the Ewingsdale hinterland, five kilometres from the Byron Bay township, the centre was designed by architect Rieky Sunur and features concrete and timber styling.
Highlights include floor-to-ceiling windows which offer stunning views of the surrounding hills.
The second floor also features stylish clad walls covered in vertical wooden slats.
Inside the main house, guests have access to a chef-style kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and plenty of counter space.
Meanwhile, the dining room features stunning views of the lush countryside.

The purchase comes after Lorna dropped $14million in 2021, on the Byron Bay estate where Margot Robbie secretly wed Tom Ackerley in 2016
The tranquil retreat also boasts a range of features including a geodesic yoga dome, infrared sauna, and an ice bath.
There is also a freshwater heated infinity pool and idyllic Zen gardens.
According to the Soma website, a three-night full retreat package including a king bed is worth $3390 per person.
Meanwhile, in 2021, Soma’s owners were asking $6,820 for a single day rental.
Fans of Nine Perfect Strangers will recognise Soma as the location for the sinister ‘wellness’ retreat that was key to the popular crime story.
In the series, Nicole stars as Masha Dmitrichenko, a Russian expatriate and founder of Tranquillum House.
The purchase comes after Lorna dropped $14 million in 2021, on the Byron Bay estate where Margot Robbie secretly wed Tom Ackerley in 2016.
But $14million is small change for the activewear queen and her husband, Bill Clarkson, who sold their two LA homes for a combined $22.6 million just one month before purchasing the idyllic retreat.
Her most recent acquisition is Lorna’s third investment in the Byron Bay region, with the activewear queen also owning a beach house in the area.
