They set off a cyclone of dating speculation after they indulged in a public display of affection in around New Year's, according to TMZ.

As the rumors hit a fever pitch, the 1980s icons confirmed two weeks ago that they had been an item for months, via a statement from Lamas' representative to E! News. 

With the cat out of the bag, they attended their first public event together last Sunday, a New Jersey horror and sci-fi convention called the Chiller Theatre Expo.

The Falcon Crest heartthrob, 68, and the Melrose Place bombshell, 64, were glimpsed after the beano clinging to each other as they headed down the street.

He gallantly lent her his leather jacket so that she could fling it over her black lace top to ward off the northeastern nighttime chill.

Lamas meanwhile braved the cold in a thin-looking black sweatshirt and dark jeans, accessorizing with shades and carrying along a bag of drumsticks.

Locklear glowed with happiness as she strolled down the sidewalk alongside her dashing new boyfriend, with whom she once covered Playgirl in 1983.
