Livia Firth has hit back at trolls as she was cruelling branded a ‘cretinous menopausal hag’ for handing back her MBE.
The activist and former wife of film star Colin Firth, tore up the certificate in a social media video earlier this week.
She explained to shocked fans she was sending back the honour to St James’s Palace in fury at what she calls Britain’s ‘appeasement’ of US President Donald Trump.
Following the clip, Livia has revealed she’s faced trolling by social media users, with the 56-year-old reposting a now deleted comment from Illumanti Vodka founder James Warwick.
As Livia said bots and fake accounts were behind the majority of her distasteful replies, James had cruelly wrote: ‘They aren’t bots, everyone just thinks you’re a cretinous menopausal hag, desperately craving attention as your vagina dries up and people stop giving you the attention you are so desperate for. Pathetic.’
Despite deleting his reply, Livia screenshotted it and reposted it to her 108,000 followers as she hit back.

She penned: ‘I see your deleted your comment, lucky for me I took a screenshot before you did that.
‘My vagina is not too dry for now but thank you for your concern.
‘On the contrary, it seems like you have some serious problems with your masculinity.
‘In particular, it seems you are the example of toxic and abusive misogyny the UN Women I am proudly part of is talking about in the report they just launched at the UNGA.’
Livia added: ‘You see… the problem with abusing menopausal women is that we have gone through a lot in life already. And we take less shit from men who are disrespectful.
‘I could go on for hours but maybe that would be too harsh for you.’
Livia was flooded with praise by her followers for the clapback, who described it a ‘brilliant response’.
The Italian-born filmmaker and businesswoman, who co-founded the pioneering sustainability consultancy Eco-Age, was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire five years ago in recognition of her work to improve conditions for garment workers around the globe.

In her video, Livia was seen holding her MBE medal before ripping up her certificate.
She also shared photos of the medal in its box and her handwritten letter – mistakenly dated October 24, 2025 rather than today’s date of September 24.
She accepted the honour on behalf of the many factory workers and activists she had campaigned alongside, despite her discomfort with the legacy of empire.
Livia was married to Colin for 22 years before splitting in 2019, with their divorce being finalised in 2021.
The couple’s relationship allegedly broke down in 2016, with Livia understood to have been having an affair with Italian journalist Marco Brancaccia, 55.
