Little House Actress Olivia Barash, 60, Faces Eviction After Stroke

Actress Olivia Barash says she could be two weeks way from being evicted from her Los Angeles-area apartment after dealing with a stroke and subsequent financial problems.

‘I just need help during this terrible time,’ Barash, 60, told TMZ, adding that she ‘didn’t expect this’ unfortunate turn of events after the harrowing medical incident.

Barash – who appeared on two 1981 episodes of Little House on the Prairie playing a character named Sylvia Webb – added, ‘I want to move to a safe place and be normal again. I just need some assistance right now.’

Barash, who played the role of Leila in the 1984 comedy Repo Man, said that factors in her potential eviction include an increase in rent; and ongoing construction at the apartment building where she lives.

Barash told the outlet that she has also been looking for adequate healthcare after dealing with a stroke in October; and has been ‘bedridden’ since then.

Daily Mail has reached out to Barash via Instagram for further comment on the story.

Barash told TMZ that she currently has ‘no family and hardly any friends left in Los Angeles’ to help her through the trying times.

Barash, who has also been seen on shows such as Fame, One Day at a Time and 21 Jump Street, said that she is also caring for a pet dog, and needs help with that.

Barash told the outlet she was not clear on where she would go if evicted; and that a disability application she submit was denied.

Barash said she had been working on directing a documentary before she she suffered a stroke.

Barash also appears to have an active Cameo account for fans.

Good news appeared to be on the way for Barash on Monday, as a GoFundMe account her friend Nanea Reeves established has garnered more than $7,690 over 102 donations.

A statement on the GoFundMe from Reeves read: ‘Our dear friend Olivia Barash needs help. In 2 weeks, she and her dog will be evicted.

‘Her SNAP benefits are not available. She recently had a stroke and has no family in her life, just her friends.

The statement continued: ‘Our goal is to help get first and last month’s rent for her to be able to quickly find a reasonable place to live so she can focus on her physical rehabilitation to get back on her feet.’

The fundraising drive was set with a goal of $9,000 to help the actress find her financial footing.

Reeves said, ‘I have known and loved Olivia for many years. She is spirited, creative, and very talented.

‘She will need some additional money to make ends meet beyond the meager pension she receives. If you are able to help, it would be so appreciated.’
