In May of this year, Adrian admitted he wants a Line Of Duty comeback before he gets any older.
The actor revealed he and all of his castmates want to return for a seventh series.
He told The Times: ‘We all want it to come back. It’s apposite that today should be their [castmates Vicky McClure and Martin Compton’s shared] birthdays because I really don’t want them getting any older.

Vicky awkwardly dodged questioning about another series of Line Of Duty being made as she appeared on This Morning earlier this year
‘I don’t want to get any older either because we don’t want to be coming back when we’re in a wheelchair. Ted Hastings with a Zimmer frame.’
Just days before, Vicky awkwardly dodged questioning about another series of Line Of Duty being made as she appeared on This Morning.
As she appeared on the daytime TV show hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were keen to know if the show would ever be back.
Ben said: ‘There’s always going to be rumours and expectations, have you all agreed that you’d be ready and up for it when Jed gets himself together?’
But Vicky then replied: ‘There will always be rumours. I mean look. We have all said we love the show and would love to go again obviously but there’s nothing to talk about so it’s disappointing in terms of there is no news!’
Cat then quipped: ‘Well is no news good news? Because it’s definitely not a no…’.
Vicky then started smiling and picked up a cushion to cover herself as she added: ‘I’m just going to put this over my face…’, as Ben and Cat burst into laughter.
Adrian went on to tease the return of the show during an appearance on Good Morning Britain in July.

When questioned on the possibility of another series, he replied: ‘Well I think so, Vicky thinks so, Martin thinks so’
Joining hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on the ITV show, Adrian admitted he would be free to film after his stage show ended in September.
When questioned on the possibility of another series, he replied: ‘Well I think so, Vicky thinks so, Martin thinks so.
‘Everybody thinks so! It’ll be down to the BBC and Jed Mercurio I think, when and whether we do it.’
He added: ‘Hopefully, somebody will make a decision at some point.’
Ed asked how long it would take for a new series to be made, with Adrian explaining: ‘First of all, Jed will have to write whatever he’s going to write. That doesn’t happen overnight.
‘Then the BBC will have to make a decision on when we’re going to shoot it, where we’re going to shoot it.
‘Hopefully we’ll get back to Belfast, that’s where we shot everything. It’ll easily be a year.’
The end of next year? Maybe,’ he added.
After the sixth series Line Of Duty fans across the nation were left ‘fuming’ as the nail-biting series finale drew to a close and the mysterious antagonist ‘H’ was finally unmasked.
Seasoned fans took to social media in their droves to share their frustrations as officers from the police anti-corruption unit AC-12 discovered the identity of the elusive ‘fourth man’, who had been colluding with the organised crime group (OCG), was none other than DSU Ian Buckells.
It saw the words ‘fuming’, ‘disappointing’ and ‘underwhelming’ all trend on social media in the aftermath of the show.
And the disbelief it could be him was compounded by the way he was only caught because of his repeated mis-spelling of the word ‘definitely’ – hardly the blunder of a hardened criminal mastermind.
