Lindy Klim Discusses Her Royal Heritage Amid Revealed Family Past

Lindy Klim has long been referred to as a Balinese Princess.

It was a term that popped up on more than one occasion during her recent appearance with daughter Stella on The Amazing Race Australia.

And Lindy, 45, has opened up about her royal heritage, following her exit from the popular Channel Ten series.

Speaking to Chattr, Lindy revealed that her regal lineage came from her great-great uncle who was the King of Denpasar.

‘It’s my great-great uncle, who was the king, and then he passed away. So then they had to find another king,’ she told the publication.

‘So, the current king of Denpasar isn’t actually a blood relative of ours anymore, but that’s the lineage of the family.’

Much to Stella’s surprise, Lindy also revealed in the chat that her daughter, along with her other children Rocco, Frankie and Goldie, also have royal heritage.

‘It does,’ Lindy replied, after being asked if the royal lineage extends to her progeny.

‘We have a family name, which is Agron, which means children of the king. So all the kids have that same name.’

Despite opening up about her ‘blue blood’, elsewhere in the chat Lindy said it was something that she prefers to play down.

Lindy said that she does not feel a ‘strong connection’ to her Balinese heritage, having grown up Down Under.

‘I still see my family here [in Bali] quite a bit, but I don’t consider myself sort of part of that [royal] family, you know, I don’t really understand what goes on,’ she explained.

‘There is a big ceremony I have to go to, but I don’t really understand a lot of it. So that’s why I kind of don’t really call myself Princess, by choice.’

It comes after the dark past behind the socialite’s royal blood was revealed.

Her great-great uncle Ida Pemecutan XI died of heart failure on 22 December 2021 at age 76, leaving behind four children – and a sordid criminal history few are aware of.

Cokorda Pemecutan spent one year at Kerobokan Penitentiary in Denpasar for killing his stepbrother Anak Agung Ngurah Putu Paranacita on 11 November, 2003.

The late king impaled Paranacita with a sword during a family dispute, according to documents made public by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia.

While the criminal history of Lindy’s family member may be news to Aussies, those in Bali are very familiar with the incident.

One insider told Daily Mail the murder and Cokorda Pemecutan’s subsequent time in prison is ‘very well known’ in the tourist hotspot.

‘All Balinese know about it,’ the source said, adding that the story was in the Indonesian headlines for some time.

‘I’m actually quite surprised that this has never been reported on in Australia before. Particularly now that she [Lindy] has returned.

‘I travel to Bali frequently, and it’s common knowledge.’

The source went on to say they were ‘unsure of the reason’ Cokorda Pemecutan killed his brother, but could ‘only assume it had to do with money, land and power’.

Daily Mail can reveal the insider wasn’t far off their guess.

Cokorda Pemecutan, who is the uncle of Lindy’s father Anak Agung Oka Rama, reportedly killed his stepbrother during an argument over a boundary wall.

An ensuing altercation ended with Cokorda Pemecutan fatally stabbing his stepbrother with a sword he kept mounted on a nearby wall.

Cokorda Pemecutan was immediately arrested when police arrived at the scene, but it would be 10 years before he was found guilty of murder.

Due to legal complications and processing times, Cokorda Pemecutan didn’t receive his final sentencing until 27 November, 2013.

He was found guilty of assault causing the death of a person and sentenced to three years in the notorious Kerobokan Prison, which housed Schapelle Corby for nine years.

He was also ordered to pay court costs of 2,500 rupiah – which is currently worth less than an Australian dollar and served one year of his sentence due to the time he spent in detention and under house arrest

Lindy, meanwhile, lived a life of luxury in Bali for fifteen years, but returned to Australia in February after her split from property developer Adam Ellis.
