Linda Evangelista made a rare public appearance with her son Augustin James Evangelista Pinault, who supported her at the 2024 Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards held at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto last Saturday.
The 59-year-old Canadian supermodel – who boasts 1.5M Instagram followers – wrote that it ‘meant the world to me’ to have family with her at the ceremony where Erdem designer Erdem Moralıoğlu presented her with the Vanguard Award.
‘[Growing up] in St. Catharines, my family rarely came around the lake to Toronto. This was the big city. So tonight, to be here with my family, is incredibly special,’ Linda said onstage – according to Vogue.
‘For me, fashion has always been a place where dreams, aspirations, and inspirations flourish. The beauty of fashion is there is no right or wrong way of creating it; fashion allows each of us to choose not only how we see ourselves but how we present ourselves to the world.’
Evangelista slipped her statuesque 5ft9in figure into a silver-embellished skirt suit by, who else, Erdem as well as chrome pumps.

The Steven Meisel muse just celebrated her only child’s 18th birthday on October 11, and she gushed that her ‘man’ is always ‘bringing the joy and the light.’
Linda kept the identity of Augustin’s father secret for five years until she sued her billionaire babydaddy – Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault – in 2011 for $46K/month in child support at Manhattan Family Court.
Nine months later, the 62-year-old Frenchman reached an out-of-court settlement with Evangelista after welcoming daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault with second wife Salma Hayek.
The Mexican 58-year-old also publicly wished her stepson a happy birthday: ‘Your gentle heart is like healing caress in our lives because you bring warmth and light to everyone around you. Keep bringing the laughter and joy. We love you so much!’
The Donna Karan brand ambassador nearly retired from her three-decade modeling career in 2016 after becoming ‘permanently deformed’ and ‘brutally disfigured’ from seven, fat-freezing CoolSculpting sessions.
Linda suffered a ‘very rare but serious side effect’ called Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, which caused her fatty tissue to thicken and expand rather than dissolve.
Evangelista went on to sue CoolSculpting’s owner Zeltiq Aesthetics for $50M in damages for emotional distress and lost income in 2021, which was settled 10 months later.
The breast cancer survivor – who’s appeared on over 700 magazine covers – famously told Vogue in 1990 that she and her fellow supermodels ‘don’t wake up for less than $10K a day’ for a job.
‘I had no idea that so much attention would be brought to it,’ Linda admitted in her Disney+ docuseries The Super Models last year.
‘I don’t want to be known for that. I’ve done so much more than just that quote but it’s really sticking.’
