Lily Allen looked incredible as she took to the stage in her lingerie on the first night of her West End Girl tour in on Monday evening.

The singer, 40, slipped into pink satin underwear and a sheer negligee with a lace trim during one of her songs, in photographs from the evening.

Lily's fans delighted in her performance and it's clear to see why, as she wowed in a series of visually stunning looks during the 12-track set list.

The mother of two also slipped into a black lace bodysuit and patent red leather mini shorts and a pair of fishnet tights, while singing next to an unmade bed.

Other outfits included a pink tweed Chanel-style suit, which included a chic jacket and matching skirt with a pair of towering platform heels.

She also opted for a strapless black leather maxi dress, while her hair was styled in an up do throughout the performance.

After the show, some fans admitted they were left confused by the format and the fact she was only on stage for 45 minutes.

While they delighted in the time Lily was on stage playing her new album from beginning to end, some took issue with the first half of the show.

A string trio entertained the audience with a 55 minute instrumental performance of some of her biggest hits, including Not Fair, The Fear and Smile.

This segment of the gig received mixed reviews, as some branded it 'funny and camp' - while others said it was akin to a 'primary school assembly sing along'.

Sharing their thoughts on X after the concert, critics said: 'This is like a primary school assembly sing along. Let's get something else for the arena tour';

'Lily Allen opens West End Girl with orchestral arrangement of greatest hits and does not sing them'; 'Lily Allen performing West End Girl front to back and nothing else... interesting choice';

'So Lily Allen is on stage for... 45 minutes, just so I have it straight?'; 'As fierce as it is that Lily Allen is touring again and the show looks fierce and I cannot wait to go - I just can't help but feel like a trio of people playing her hits and her not singing them is just not gonna stick when it comes to the arenas?;

'Lily Allen's support act in Glasgow being a string trio performing her hits with the words on screen for the audience to sing along to was the funniest, campest thing I've ever seen.

Despite the uncertainty over the string performance, when Lily did eventually come on stage after a brief break, it seems her show was worth waiting for.

Sharing their thoughts, fans wrote: 'Lily Allen performs West End Girl. One of the most incredible and moving stage shows I've ever seen. So glad she decided to open the tour in Glasgow. Thrilled to have been there';

'Just out of Lily Allen and that is literally what we've been begging artists to do for years. A visual performance of a great album played from start to finish'; 'Imagine being naff about going to a show and getting exactly what is advertised? Lily was seemingly back to her best after revealing she had lost her voice - just days before she was due to kick off her West End Girl tour - her first in seven years.

She took to social media on Wednesday to share a new video while attempting to complete her rehearsals for the tour.

In the clip, Lily was surrounded by members of her crew as she sings: 'Five days until the tour and I have lost the lower voice and the [vocal] register of my voice which is really cool.'

Lily's voice appeared croaky and breaking at points as she snuffled towards the end of the clip.

Lily's show will now be moving to Liverpool, Newcastle, Bristol and Cardiff.

It will culminate at the London Pallidum, with Lily performing at the renowned venue for two nights.

Lily skipped the BRITs on Saturday night to rest ahead of the tour, opting for a girls' night in with best pal Miquita Oliver.

During the night she was pictured sarcastically yawning through the two-and-half-hour-long ceremony.

She missed out on three gongs at the star-studded bash - including Best Album for record West End Girl - and, according to insiders, was 'bitterly disappointed' not to be given a performing slot at the music spectacle.

BRITs bosses were expecting her to attend, even including her in their seating plan alongside a 'Madeline' cake, a cheeky nod to her song about ex-husband 's cheating.

And BRITs' host even name-checked the singer in his opening monologue, saying: 'Will it be a big night for a lady with three BRIT Award nominations? Her album West End Girl was launched into the charts like a torpedo, only this torpedo didn't sink a ship, it destroyed a harbour, it's Lily Allen!'

One fan pointed out that it had previously been announced that Lily would only be performing songs from West End Girl.

Lily snubbed the BRIT Awards in favour of a girls' night in with best pal Miquita Oliver - and was pictured sarcastically yawning through the two-and-half-hour-long ceremony

But according to music insiders, the London-born star received an early indication that she would not be collecting any gongs and decided to shun Saturday's ceremony, which was held in Manchester for the first time in its history.

Lily had reportedly been suffering from a cold last week, and with her first tour in seven years starting on Monday, both she and her management were reluctant to throw herself into a night of partying.

But sources close to the star told the Daily Mail she would not have missed the opportunity to celebrate her first BRIT Award in 15 years had she won.

Indeed, Lily was upset not to be recognised for her remarkable comeback and privately scoffed as Noel Gallagher collected the Best Songwriter of the Year award - despite having released no new music.

An insider said: 'Lily was chuffed to be nominated for three gongs and was hoping to land at least one of them.

'She's always loved the BRITs and to be saluted for her music after pouring in so much time and emotion into the album would have certainly been worth celebrating.

'But she didn't want to be a storyline for attending and not winning. She anticipated the cameras pining for her reaction so it was best all round for her to just not make the trip to Manchester - especially as she wasn't even performing.

'It made sense to focus on tour preparations, that was always going to take precedence over an award show appearance in which she would leave empty-handed.'

On Noel's victory, the source added: 'The irony of Noel winning Songwriter of the Year despite not releasing any new music wasn't lost on Lily. It summed up her frustration with the whole night.'

A source close to Lily added: 'Lily's main priority right now is her tour, which opens on Monday night in Glasgow.

'She intended on going to the BRIT Awards, but her tour rehearsals took precedence, and, in the end, she decided to keep rehearsing her show rather than take a day out of her busy schedule to travel to Manchester for two days before her sold out tour opens.'

While her music contemporaries were being prepped by their glam squads before strutting the red carpet at Manchester's Co-op Live Arena, Lily was lounging in comfy clothes with ex-T4 host Miquita Oliver, watching the ceremony on TV.
