Reading off a teleprompter, she said: ‘Hello I’m Lily Allen aged 12 from Glastonbury and on Light Lunch today we go animal crazy with the heroes of Animal Hospital, Pet Rescue and the Really Wild Show. Cue titles…’

Light Lunch was a popular comedy chatshow hosted by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, which aired from 1997 to 1999.

Fans were thrilled to discover Lily’s broadcaster debut, sharing the clip to Instagram and TikTok and poking fun at her claim to be from Glastonbury.

The hitmaker was in fact born and raised in London – the daughter of successful actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen.

But some suggested that her choice of location had been prescient, coming exactly 10 years before Lily made her debut performance at Glastonbury Music Festival.

They said: ‘OG queen of Glastonbury’; ‘Did she says she’s from Glastonbury?’; ‘I guess she felt like being from Glastonbury on that day.’

While others theorised her famous parentage had been the key to her Light Lunch cameo – with Lily’s first ever TV role being at the age of three in a 1988 episode of The Comic Strip Presents, co-written by dad Keith.

Poking fun at her slightly deadpan delivery, they wrote: ‘Always been a nepo kid then’; ‘Wow. I wonder why they chose Lily Allen’; ‘Loved Lily’s “I don’t want to be here” delivery!’

Soon after Lily’s birth, her dad Keith began an affair with a brigadier’s wife who lived near the set of a film he was working on in Dorset, eventually leaving wife Alison when Lily was four years old.

She had a tumultuous childhood, attending 13 different schools, including Bedales in Hampshire, a private boarding school that charges £46,185 per year, but was expelled from several of them for drinking and smoking.

While she signed her first record deal in 2002, her notorious partying was what she was originally known for, with her later admitting she’s surprised she’s ‘not dead’ after how hard she partied during her teens.

Lily has been forthcoming in the past about her experiences with drugs, alcohol and sex, previously describing the music industry as a ‘hedonistic place’ when she came onto the scene in the noughties.

While she has also spoke openly about her fractious relationship with her father, admitting in November that her priority for her own daughters, Ethel, 14, and Marnie, 12, is to be ‘safe’.

She said: ‘My kids feel safe. That’s the main thing for me. I felt very unsafe in my childhood.’

She says being around both her parents during the fallout of the break-up – especially Keith’s notorious drinking sessions at the members-only Groucho Club in London – made her want to change her extravagant lifestyle.

‘I just want my kids to have a perfect childhood,’ she said in an interview.

‘Unlike mine, I didn’t want them spending the weekend in the Groucho Club in the hotel upstairs, with a Toblerone to keep them going.

‘I’m a working mum but it’s just about getting the balance right. My parents weren’t together, so it was both of them as single parents, whereas when I’m working they’ve got my nanny, who is fantastic, and my husband who is there every day.

While in 2018, Lily said an adult celebrity who played football with her father had sex with her when she was 14-years-old.

The Smile singer said she watched the unnamed television star compete in a charity football match before he bought her drinks and had sex with her in his hotel.

She said she was afraid to tell her father about the incident – but he reportedly turned it into a joke.

The shocking claims were made in Lily’s book My Thoughts Exactly.

She wrote: ‘After the match, the TV star left his football gear in my dad’s car, and I was dispatched to his hotel to return it.

‘We arranged to meet in the bar there. He bought me a couple of drinks, then took me up to his room and had sex with me.

‘I was 14. He was 19, but to me he seemed like someone from a different generation.  Afterwards, I felt funny about it. I knew what had happened wasn’t right…

‘My dad turned it into a shtick with his friends.’

She continued: ‘They made up elaborate schemes to blackmail the guy and they rehearsed how they’d call him up and put the s**ts up him.

‘I just know that my dad turned me having sex with this guy I hardly knew into a joke between him and his mates. That didn’t make me feel good.’
