Lily Allen, 40, poses for daring shoot, anticipates critics’ backlash over body image and weight gain after boob job.

Lily Allen has posed for her sexiest shoot to date – which she predicts will lead to critics stating: ‘She’s so sad, she’s so desperate, she’s too old for this’.

In a spread for Perfect Magazine, the singer, 40, who is due to release her new album West End Girl on Friday, stripped down to lingerie and a number of racy looks, which she admitted made her feel ‘powerful’.

The insightful accompanying interview, Lily spoke candidly about her body image and how her sex appeal has transformed since her 20s, while she also shed light on her heartbreaking split from husband David Harbour.

In the incredible images, Lily posed in a hotel in a number of raunchy poses, including those exposing her bra and the results of her boob job, which she revealed she underwent in a bid to encourage weight gain after she became ‘really, really thin’.

Lily noted that while some may consider her ‘too old’ to pose in lingerie, she never wore saucy garments in shoots when she was younger as she feels much sexier now she has entered her fourth decade and is no longer ‘an object’ in regards to sex.

Lily looked incredible in the snaps, as she posed in a PVC pencil skirt while reclining on a bed and pulling up her T-shirt to show a bra.

A cover shot from the images showed the stunner posing in a bra and pencil skirt with a mask shielding her eyes as she suggestively placed her hands on her chest.

The confidence of the images were in stark contrast to her recent talk of her battles with body image – as she admitted she has become more comfortable in her skin.

When asked why she went under the knife, Lily boldly replied: ‘I felt like it. No, actually, you know what it was? It was that I got really, really thin when I was feeling at my lowest, in the past year or so. Or longer, actually…

‘And I knew that I had to gain weight. And I’ve always been bottom-heavy and so I had a fear that if I was to gain weight, my body would feel out of proportion. And so I felt like, why not gift myself a get-out clause? Make it feel more enticing.’

On the reaction to the images, she said: ‘I can already feel the response to them, which is like, ‘She’s so sad, she’s so desperate, she’s too old for this.’…

‘Why? Because it’s sexy? Why do we relate something that we all do for our entire lives only to youth? It’s f**king weird.’

The interviewer went on to ask Lily: ‘I’ll be devil’s advocate…

‘The photos were taken by a woman, but are you not, to some extent, playing into what we’ve just been talking about: the presentation of something that’s to be desired. There you are in your lingerie, on a bed, coming on to the camera.’

The star however disagreed, as she admitted that she felt different in her 20s, when she owned her sexuality less.

She replied: ‘I don’t agree with that. I think it’s a reaction to how I’ve been made to feel, which is: you are undesirable and you’re not in the sexy bracket any more…

‘I actually didn’t dress like this in pictures when I was in my early twenties. It wasn’t something that came naturally to me.’

On feeling sexier now than in her early years, she stated: ‘Yeah! The act of having sex in my twenties was completely as an object…

‘I didn’t feel it had anything to do with my own pleasure. I never felt like my enjoyment of it was a priority for any of the partners that I had chosen or anyone that I’d ended up with. I didn’t masturbate, even, when I was in my twenties…

‘I existed purely for the enjoyment of men. And that didn’t feel sexy. It’s only later that I’ve discovered what it is I like and what turns me on. And if I want to express that in photographs or on my record, then I’m going to do that.’

In a heartwarming response to how the shoot made her feel, Lily said: ‘It feels powerful. I feel like I’m comfortable with my body in a way that I haven’t been for most of my adult life.’

Earlier this week, Lily made a statement as a single woman as she showed off her bare wedding finger while shooting for her new ‘break-up’ album following her divorce.

The singer split from her ‘unfaithful’ ex-husband David last year when she discovered his three-year affair and profile on celebrity dating app, Raya.

The pop star joined the app herself, pretending to be ‘looking for women’ – and allegedly found that David had already set up a dating profile.

Their split led to her to check into a £8,000-a-week trauma treatment centre to focus on her mental health.

Since the separation, Lily has been finding therapy in music and is releasing her first album in seven years, West End Girl, which will detail their split after four years of marriage.

In a picture released in conjunction with the record, Lily looks stylish in a polka dot dress and stockings – revealing her ring-free hand as she picks up her groceries.

Lily, who has signed a deal with record label BMG, has admitted she’s ‘nervous’ as it’s her most ‘vulnerable’ collection of songs to date.

The mother of two has revealed that she penned the album in just 10 days and said: ‘I’m nervous. The record is vulnerable in a way that my music perhaps hasn’t been before – certainly not over the course of a whole album.’

Last week, Lily extended an olive branch to David after revealing she became suicidal following his three-year affair. She reflected on their relationship, admitting there were still ‘lots of good things about it’ despite the heartbreak.

She told British Vogue: ‘My kids had an amazing experience living in America for five years, and I have a lot of compassion for my ex-husband.  I think we all suffer.’

The kind words towards her ex came after Lily revealed she ‘came close to relapsing on drink and drugs and developed a really, really bad problem with food’ as a result of her split from David.

She said she knew she needed to check herself into a facility when she realised she ‘wanted to die’.

The singer told the publication: ‘I’ve had real problems with food over the past few years.’ [In the thick of the break up] ‘it got really, really, really bad.’

The star, who has been sober for six years, added: ‘The feelings of despair that I was experiencing were so strong…

‘The last time that I felt anything like that, drugs and alcohol were my way out, so it was excruciating to sit with those [feelings] and not to use them.’
