Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy returned to restaurant where they met on Wednesday for the first time since his death.
The influencer has been sharing her healing journey online and while some fans have thanked her for being so open others have accused her of using the singer for ‘clout.’
Liam had been dating Kate, 25, for two years when he died in October, and had been with him in Argentina until two days before he fell 45ft to his death from a hotel balcony at the age of 31.
In the past few weeks, she has shared unseen photos of Liam on Instagram and posted a cherished note from him.
Kate also filmed a video as she looked through her possessions from around the time of Liam’s death.
In her latest TikTok video, she visited Ritual Rooftop Restaurant & Lounge in Charleston, South Carolina where she met Liam for the first time.

Kate explained: ‘I am currently in Charleston, North Carolina and for those who may not know this is the city that I used to live in and the city that I met Liam in.
‘I am at the restaurant that I met Liam at when I was a server and this is my first time back here.
‘I told myself I’m going to let this be a beautiful moment that brings me peace rather than sadness. I feel like that is what Liam would want me to do.’
Walking over to the booth where he was sitting when they met, Kate showed that her friends had decorated the table.
She continued: ‘My friends thought it would be a good idea to get some McDonald’s which was Liam’s favourite food.
‘This photo is Liam sitting right here in this both wearing Ritual merch.’
Kate and her friends then headed out on to the rooftop to continue to honour Liam’s memory.
‘We used to love this thing called flying wish paper and you write a wish on it, then light it up and it’s supposed to make your wishes come true. So we are going to do this today,’ she said while lighting the paper.

While some of Liam’s fans were happy others were angry that she continues to reference him while his parents grieve.
Sharing their thoughts in the comments, they wrote: ‘You need to stop using Liam’s name for clout. You left him there. You’re so fake. There is a reason why his family wants nothing to do with you’;
‘Liam Liam Liam u need to get some content which u don’t revolve around Liam. You are using this to publicise yourself. Please for the love god stop’; ‘Are you still going on about Liam move on.’
Others however found comfort in the clip, noticing how the clouds in the background looked like one of Liam’s tattoos.
They added: ‘Look at the sky the clouds are like his arrow tattoo’; ‘Around minute 1:00 there’s arrows in the sky behind you Kate he’s always with you’;
‘The clouds is the background also kinda looking like the arrows on his arm, he’s definitely there with you and you captured it’;
‘Please don’t stop sharing your healing journey. It’s really bringing so many people comfort. I’m so sorry people are seeing you in such a light.’
Last week, Kate shared an emotional reminder of the star on her Instagram stories as she filmed a sunset from her car window.
Kate has been updating her followers on how she’s doing since the tragedy, and recently braved looking through boxes of her things from her last few weeks with Liam.
Now, the influencer has shared a clip of bright orange skies with the clouds surrounding them resembling the outline of angel wings.
She wrote ‘looks like’ alongside an angel wing emoji and added the song The Night We Met by Lord Huron in the background.
Angels have been symbolic for Kate since Liam’s passing, particularly the number 444, which she has since got tattooed on her hand.
The figure has several hidden meanings behind it and is considered an angel number in numerology.
In numerology, 444 is a sign that the ‘angels are with you’ and are ‘there to guide you step by step’.
The way the figures are formed means they represent stability and a reassurance that you are not alone.

After his death, she referenced the angel numbers as she revealed they had been planning to marry in the weeks leading up to his passing.
She wrote: ‘A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together.
‘I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said, “Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged and together forever 444.”
‘Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned. You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel.
‘I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go. Forever yours, Katelyn 444.’
It comes just after Kate took to TikTok to film a clip as she looked through her things from around the time of Liam’s death.
It was during that time that she discovered a yellow gown and worn white stilettos – which she had worn to a wedding with Liam in August.
The discovery made Kate emotional as she recalled the wedding, and shared a sweet memory of ‘dancing the night away’ with Liam.
‘I’ve had these boxes sitting down here in my basement for probably three or four months now,’ she said.
‘I have just been absolutely dreading opening up these boxes and going through these things because they’re just like the things I had in the last couple of months and weeks with Liam.
‘So I’ve really been procrastinating opening these boxes and sorting through these boxes and that’s what I’ve been doing for the past hour, just organising and getting my things together and packing up my stuff.
‘And um… [chokes up] I open this box – I’m really trying to pull it together right now – and I found this dress.’

Kate continued: ‘This dress actually brings me so much peace and comfort because the memory that me and Liam had in this dress was a memory I will never forget.
‘We went to this beautiful wedding and it was my very first wedding I’ve ever attended.
‘Oh my god we just had the best time… and the best part about this is in another box these shoes, and I remember the next morning and I said to Liam “Oh my god look at my shoes they’re so ruined, I don’t know what to do with them” – and when I tell you these shoes were practically almost new before I wore them this night, we just literally danced the night away.’
She added: ‘We were just dancing all night, walking around this venue, exploring, and I just can’t even believe I didn’t throw these out. And I’m so glad I didn’t.
‘This memory is literally embedded in these shoes.’
