Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen made his return to fine art as he painted Holly Willoughby and Josie Gibson live on This Morning on Thursday.
The interior designer, 58, is best known for appearing on the BBC show Changing Rooms and has since appeared in a whole string of design shows.
But before he became a TV celebrity, Laurence was a classically trained fine artist and returned to his painting roots during an appearance on This Morning.
He painted Holly, 42, and Josie, 38, live in the studio, before revealing the results of his labour to the two shocked ITV hosts.
After the big reveal, Laurence insisted that the work of art was still in its early days as Josie asked if she was going to get ‘any more hair’ added.

When Laurence turned around the painting, a shocked Holly said: ‘Oh my God, wow!’
Laurence then said: ‘It’s very early stages, maybe I should come back for the rest of the week to finish it off.’
To which Josie hilariously asked: ‘I love mine but am I going to get a bit more hair?’
Laurence chuckled at her remark and assured her she would, before Holly said: ‘It’s really nice.’
Laurence then joked: ‘The one on the left is Ben Shephard by the way,’ sending Josie into fits of giggles.
Speaking about his return to fine art after many years as an interior designer, Laurence cheekily told how his wife Jackie is very pleased by his career change.
He explained: ‘I started off as a fine artist, long before television, long before interior design, I did classical fine art for about four years.
‘This is kind of the joke because Jackie and I have been together since then, since we were 19, and she’s been laying it on quite thick over the last 40/50/60 years, saying she fell in love with a long-haired artist and has been waking up since an orange television celebrity.
Big reveal! He painted the two hosts faced, adding detail to their features, while the background was an orange colour
Amusing: When Laurence insisted it was in its early stages, Josie hilariously asked: ‘I love mine but am I going to get a bit more hair?’
‘Since going back to fine art, it’s kind of revived our romantic life.’
Laurence has returned to his fine art roots and, for the first time in 15 years, had an exhibition of paintings on canvas and pencil drawings displayed earlier this month.
He held his first solo painting exhibition, titled Garden of Baroque Delights, at Cotswold Contemporary Gallery on September 16, and plans to continue his love of landscapes.
His career venture comes after Laurence told how social media has made his line of interior design work somewhat unnecessary.
Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival last October, he said that thanks to Instagram, ‘everyone can be an interior designer’.
Pleased: Despite their jokes, Josie and Holly appeared pleased with the results as they posed alongside the artwork
Back in the day: The interior designer (pictured in 2000), 58, is best known for appearing on the BBC show Changing Rooms and has since appeared in a whole string of design shows
However, he went on to say that he ‘loved the immediacy and democracy’ of social media and that it allowed ‘absolutely everyone to be an interior designer’.
‘The whole influenza of influencers is the moment when the lunatics take over the asylum,’ he said.
Comparing Instagram to the power of punk music, he went on: ‘It was like punk did, like New Romanticism did. It was people just Howard Beale, tells listeners to ‘turn off your television’.
‘I am telling you to not listen to interior designers that tell you how to do it.’
