Laura Byrne SLAMS Melania Trump for Presidential Inauguration outfit: ‘She’s going to her own funeral’

Laura Byrne has taken a not-so-subtle dig at Melania Trump’s sense of style.

The Bachelor star, 38, was discussing the First Lady’s inauguration outfit with her Life Uncut podcast co-host Brittany Hockley and unloaded with a blistering critique.

Melania, 54, opted for a long, tailored navy-blue coat by American designer Adam Lippes, along with a pair of suede Manolo Blahnik heels and black leather gloves for the occasion.

However, the real star of the show was a large navy wide-brimmed hat with a flat top and white trimming, designed by Eric Javits – also an American brand.

The outfit did not resonate with Laura however, who said Melania looked as though she was attending a much more sombre occasion than a Presidential inauguration.

‘We woke up this morning to photos of Melania Trump going to her own funeral,’ Laura said.

‘Melania’s hat and her outfit – it was iconic, that’s what it was,’ she added, before quipping the ensemble resembled the uniforms worn by funeral directors at female-staffed funeral chain White Lady Funerals.

‘She is dressed identically…there is a company in Australia called [White] Lady Funerals. She is wearing a [White] Lady Funerals outfit,’ Laura said.

‘She bought their uniform and she went to the funeral of her own life for the next four years.’

Co-host Brittany Hockley went a step further, claiming that it wasn’t even Melania under the wide brimmed hat on Inauguration Day.

‘I’m not convinced it’s Melania – I think she’s been cloned,’ she said.

‘I can’t believe she’s still there. She wore the hat that covered half of her face so you cant properly see her. 

‘I think she’s done a runner. Can you blame her?’

Brittany then made light of an incident during the Inauguration, where President Donald Trump was apparently having difficulty kissing his wife.

‘The hat is so big,’ she said. 

‘There is a moment where Donald Trump goes to kiss her and he can’t get under her hat. 

‘He physically cant reach her and he’s tilting his big fat ugly head. 

‘He’s trying to get under there and air kiss her and the hat is a condom for her face.’

Brittany added: He can’t reach her so he has to end up giving up and puts an air kiss in. 

‘That’s why she wore the hat. she’s protecting herself from her own husband at her funeral.’

Laura added that Melania looked as though she was less-than enamoured with the President’s advances.

‘I’ve never seen someone look as though they have as much disdain for a kiss,’ Laura said.

While the hat may have been the focal point of her outfit, many users on X, formerly known as Twitter, compared it to that of McDonald’s character Hamburglar, who wears a big black hat with a stripe in the middle.

‘Meet Melania Hamburglar Trump,’ one user on X wrote, as they sent out a picture of the character.

Another user agreed, ‘Melania Trump serving Madam First Lady Hamburglar at the #Inauguration2025.’
