Laura Byrne has revealed the wild going away gift she bought for husband Matty ‘J’ Johnson before he headed into the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
The Bachelor star 38, was chatting to her Life Uncut podcast host Brittany Hockley about the ‘vanilla’ summer holiday she spent with Matty and children Marlie-May, five, and Lola, three, ahead of her husband’s reality show tilt.
Disappointed with the lack of amusing anecdotes from her time off, Laura then revealed that she did purchase a racy marital aide for Matty as somewhat of a going-away gift.
‘I was thinking what am I going to bring to entertain everyone, so then I bought a c*** ring online,’ Laura confessed.
‘I wanted to send Matt off with a bang. He’s never tried one. I’ve never tried one.
‘Matt is pretty straighty-180 and has always been straighty-180 – not in a bad way, we have great sex don’t get me wrong – he’s just never been adventurous.

The budget conscious Laura then admitted she made her racy purchase in the Black Friday sale, however Matty was less-than-impressed when it arrived in the mail.
‘I got it in the mail and I was like: “hey maybe we should try this?”
‘There wasn’t a lot of enthusiasm …so I just put it on charge next to the bed and didn’t really think about it.’
Laura, who added that the electric boudoir accoutrement came complete with a ‘frightening’ amount of settings, said before the couple could road test the item, it was discovered by their daughter Lola.
‘It had been charging for two days I had kind of forgotten about it,’ she said.
‘Lola was the one who ruined the anticipation when she came downstairs wearing it as a bracelet on full vibrate.’
Laura, who added that Lola was used to wearing her mother’s jewellery around the house, was quite taken with her new bracelet and the tot even wanted to take it to daycare.
‘She was walking around the house and was like: “mummy, this one moves”,’ she said.

‘I was thinking what am I going to bring to entertain everyone, so then I bought a c*** ring online,’ Laura confessed
‘Luckily she’s only figured out how to put it on the lowest setting because my god this thing packs a punch.’
‘She liked it so much she wanted to put it in her daycare backpack,’ she added.
‘Mummy said: “no”.’
After convincing Lola to relinquish the item it was time for the big day when Laura and Matty put the item through its paces.
However, things didn’t go according to plan.
‘Then, Saturday night rolls around and its about to start. I was like: “hey why don’t we try the thing that Lola had on her writs yesterday?”‘ Laura said.
Unfortunately Laura’s cut-price marital aide did not do the trick with both her and Matty admitting the experience was less than stellar.
‘I got it out and got Matt to put it on and its very anti-climactic – he absolutely hated it,’ she admitted.
The device was discovered by her daughter Lola, who wore it as a bracelet around the house
‘He was like: “this is the most awful sensation.” He said: “it feels like someone’s strangling my p**** while shaking it really hard”.’
And it appears the feeling was mutual, with Laura admitting: ‘The highest setting of this ring was almost as though it was trying to sand off my c***oris.
‘I’m not even joking. You could use it as a Bunnings tool if you were trying to prepare a wall for painting.’
After getting engaged in Fiji in April 2018, Laura and Matty finally tied the knot on the south coast in November 2022, five years after meeting on The Bachelor.
They are one of the most successful couples to come out of the show and welcomed their daughter Marlie-Mae in 2019, followed by Lola in February 2021.
