Larry Emdur’s Hilarious Gold Logie Win Aftermath: ‘Best Night Ever’

Larry Emdur has given his fans an update after he took home the Gold Logie on Sunday night.

The television presenter filmed a video from his couch, sharing it to Instagram on Monday.

In the clip, Larry had a notably croaky voice and appeared exhausted but in excellent spirits.

‘So last night was the best night of my life’ Larry began, before explaining he’d been inundated with texts from well-wishers.

‘I’m trying to get back to all these messages. I’ve literally got hundreds and hundreds of texts and as soon as I reply to 20, I get 50 more’ he said, astounded.

‘There’s hundreds of emails that I’ve been trying to get back to, and the DMS, my Insta DMS is like, and every time I reply to 10, I get 20 more’ he added.

Larry then shared the physical toll the awards show had taken on him overnight.

‘Oh man, my feet are so sore. My fingers are sore from texting. I’ve got the worst headache. My a**e is sore from the tattoo’ he revealed, referring to the Logies themed tattoo he’d gotten that morning.

‘But the good news is I finally finally got the twins to sleep’ Larry concluded, before panning the camera to his two Logies tucked under a blanket.

Larry swore and referenced a part of the female anatomy in a hilarious foul-mouthed victory speech after winning the coveted Gold Logie on Sunday night.

Taking the stage at the Logies ceremony in Sydney, The Morning Show host had the crowd roaring, making light of the number of times his programs have been axed over the years and his wide range of questionable hosting gigs.

‘I just remembered I did say if I won this, I’d get all the nominees initials tattooed on my a**e live tomorrow morning,’ he began, drawing laughter from the audience.

The next day he was forced to make good on a bizarre promise he made the week before, stripping off his pants on live breakfast TV and getting a tattoo on his backside.

The Morning Show host, 59, found himself in a compromising position on Monday as he got the initials of other Gold Logie nominees etched permanently into his skin.

‘Sorry, Sylvie [his wife], I know we had some fancy hotel planned but looks like I’ll be doing squats all night!’ he continued during his speech.

‘[Sunrise host] Nat Barr is looking at me like, “Baby, I’ve got to get up in 25 minutes”,’ he continued, referencing the nearly six-hour long award ceremony.

‘I love this business so much. I love being in TV, and I’ve never wanted to do anything else.

‘Whether it’s sitting on The Morning Show couch interviewing Lindy Klim, who has invented a new product – a face mask for vulvas; or a 150kg truck driver who has won on The Price Is Right dry humping me; or being the most axed man in television.’

It was night of victories for Larry who had earlier secured his first ever Logie, the Silver for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.

The TV star, 59, has been a recognisable face on Aussie screens since the age of 19, but has never before secured a win at the prestigious awards ceremony.
