Sharon Stone’s story about being told to evacuate her Los Angeles home during the infamous OJ Simpson police chase in 1994 has been refuted by LAPD officers.
The 65-year-old Basic Instinct actress recently told InStyle magazine that law enforcement called her home and told her to evacuate at the time.
‘(They said) he’s dangerous, and we don’t know how dangerous, and we don’t know what this is,’ she recalled to the publication.
But TMZ reported on Friday that David Gascon, a commander at the LAPD’s Media Relations department during in the mid 90s, has no memory of that happening.
Tom Lange, also denied the claim, saying he’d never heard such a story before the article was published.

He also questioned what motive the football star would have had for going after Stone, who said she was ushered to a hotel in the wake of the chase.
Lange speculated that Sharon’s mention of the ordeal might have to do with the 30th anniversary coming this June.
TMZ was also in touch with a retired LAPD officer who was not named.
The person had not heard of the actress’ claim and did not know why Simpson, who had no connection to the siren, would think to go after her.
At the time of the televised police chase, Stone was living on a public-access street in Los Angeles without security.
She told the magazine, ‘While OJ was driving up and down the freeway, (the police) were like, “Find a secure house behind a gate.”‘
She explained that once she moved, one officer stood near reception and another kept watch at her door, though no further details were revealed about her connection, if any, to Simpson.
Sharon soon after relocated to a home in a gated community.

It also noted that one time a fan became so aggressive towards her on an airplane that the pilot had to turn the flight around.
Sharon earned only $500,000 on Basic Instinct. The movie made more than $350 million at the global box office.
Her co-star Michael Douglas, now 79, is thought to have been paid $14 million.
