The LAPD has concluded their investigation into John Amos’ alleged neglect after his daughter Shannon Amos repeatedly accused his caretaker son K.C. Amos of ‘impersonating him in communications, disregarding his medical needs, and mishandling his finances.’
The 57-year-old ayahuasca shaman not only reported her 53-year-old brother to Adult Protective Services, she’s called the police on him ’24 times’ and successfully had him arrested last July for making ‘terroristic’ threats via text message.
APS forwarded Shannon’s allegations to the LAPD, who discovered ‘there’s nothing seriously wrong’ with the 84-year-old Emmy nominee’s health – according to TMZ.
This, a month after John told People he was ‘feeling well and working diligently on various projects, including the docuseries that my son and I are producing, along with a music release.’
‘I’d like to add that everywhere we go together, people refer to my son K.C. as my twin,’ Amos said in a statement.

‘I’m proud of him for who he is as a person: a caring, thoughtful human being who respects me and I him.’
It was the second time The Last Rifleman actor denied his Mexico-based daughter’s claims after calling her ‘the primary suspect’ in a June 15 phone call to his lawyers, saying: ‘She’s the one that I would attribute my elderly abuse to.’
That was the same month the transformational coach created a GoFundMe campaign over the elder abuse claims, which managed to raise $13K of its $500K goal before being shut down.
John welcomed both Shannon and K.C. during his decade-long marriage to his late ex-wife #1 Noel ‘Noni’ Mickelson, which ended in 1975.
Before Noni’s death in 2016, the Grammy-nominated music video director was appointed as her caretaker over his sister, which clearly fractured their relationship.
Amos was well enough to comment on his Roots co-star’s Louis Gossett Jr.’s March 29th death as well as share his thoughts on Netflix’s animated reboot of Good Times (featuring a drug-dealing baby), which premieres this Friday.
‘I really can’t form an opinion, as I’ve not seen any of the episodes yet,’ the Coming to America alum told THR last Wednesday.

The Coming to America alum told THR last Wednesday: ‘Norman [Lear] — and the entire cast and company — set the bar pretty high. They’ll have a hard time reaching that level of entertainment [and] education. I wish them the best. I see people aspiring to that, but I don’t see anybody reaching that goal, especially in an animated version’
Showrunner Ranada Shepard’s 10-episode reimagining – executive produced by the late Norman Lear – features voiceover talent from Yvette Nicole Brown, J.B. Smoove, and Wanda Sykes
John famously portrayed patriarch James Evans in the first three seasons of CBS’ groundbreaking sitcom Good Times, which aired for a total six seasons spanning 1974-1979
