Lady Gaga teared up during her Mayhem Ball tour stop in her hometown of New York City on Friday.
During her show, she stopped performing at one point to recall the pep talk her fiancé Michael Polansky gave to her before the show, which left her speechless.
She explained that prior to the concert, after a glamorous arrival in her hometown, she felt like she had to ‘fight really hard’ through her show.
Gaga explained that is the mentality she feels when she is in the city where her dreams were born.
The Abracadabra singer, 39, told the audience: ‘I think about walking on the concrete, going all around the city and just — I remember fighting really hard, fighting really hard for my dreams and what I believed in and for myself.’
She recalled how her fiancé and a close friend gave her encouraging talks that were ‘really special’ to her, per People.

‘I was with my friend China before the show, and I said to her, “I think I might just fight my way through this whole show, ’cause when I’m in New York, I fight. I gotta earn it, and I gotta go for it.”‘
She said that her friend told her: ‘Sometimes you don’t have to fight. You just have to show up.’
She said hearing those words from her friend ‘meant so much to her’ and explained that her fiancé also told her something equally heartwarming.
‘Right before I came onstage, my fiancé Michael said, “When you go out there, let them fill you up.”‘
She started tearing up as she introduced the song Hair, which was a part of her second studio album Born This Way, which she called a ‘very special’ album.
‘I’m sure all my albums could not be made without New York, but I am sure that this album would not have been made without New York,’ the superstar said.
‘This is for all of you and for all your dreams, for maybe sometimes no more fighting, just showing up,’ she told the crowd in a meaningful moment.
Her touching speech came shortly after she enjoyed an outing in New York City and showed off her glamorous engagement ring from her beau in the process.
Handmade by Sofia Jewelry, the eight-carat diamond ring is estimated to be worth $578,000 (£427,088), according to Brides.
