La Toya Jackson prompted health concerns among social media followers on Tuesday morning, shortly after her niece discussed the terrible impact sustained drug abuse had taken on her nose.Â
The older sister of late pop legend Michael Jackson shared a short video with Instagram followers while visiting a local medical centre in Los Angeles, admitting it was the latest in a series of appointments.Â
Wearing a baseball cap and heavily tinted sunglasses, LaToya, 69, appeared to be seated on an examination bed in a brightly lit office as she addressed her fans.Â
‘Guess where I am again this Monday morning?’ she said. Yes, that place again. Constantly getting check ups… oh well. Have a great week guys.’
The vague post, shared without additional context, comes just two days after the veteran star updated followers with an identical video from the same examination bed.Â
Posting from an unnamed medical centre on Saturday, LaToya said: ‘I’m here at the doctor again, so I’m hoping everything goes well with me and the results are good.’

Earlier that day, Paris revealed one of the devastating tolls that years of drug abuse has taken on her body
La Toya’s latest medical consultation comes after niece Paris Jackson, late brother Michael’s 27-year-old daughter, admitted drug abuse had left her with a hole in her septum.Â
‘I realized I never addressed this and it can sometimes be very noticeable,’ she told TikTok followers on Sunday.Â
‘I have a really loud whistle because you can hear it when I breathe through my nose and that is because I have what is called a perforated septum.’
The model and singer then gave her fans a glimpse of the condition by shining her cell phone flashlight up on her nostril, which revealed a lit-up tunnel between the nostrils that was visible on the video.
She noted that the ‘whistle’ sound she sometimes makes when breathing through her nose could be heard on a previous video she had posted online.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, a perforated septum is a hole in the tissue in the middle of the nose that separates the nostrils.Â
The septum is lined with bone, cartilage and soft tissues, but it can be pierced or torn due to inhaling cocaine or other drugs.
However, the perforations can also be caused by excessive use of nasal steroid sprays, injuries, exposure to certain industrial chemicals, infections, autoimmune conditions and even tumors.

People suffering from a perforated septum may require antibiotics to prevent or fight infections and other products to keep the inside of their nostrils moist.
Doctors can have a prosthetic button fitted inside of the cavity, or surgery may be an option to repair it, but many people will live with the condition, which usually isn’t serious enough to require a major intervention.
Jackson, who has been open about her past drug use, hinted at how she got the hole in her nose — ‘it’s exactly where you think it’s from’ — and said she had been dealing with the condition for about seven years, going back to when she was around 20.
Toward the end of the video, Jackson looked into the camera and warned, ‘Don’t do drugs kids.’
Paris offered followers a gruesome look at the gaping hole in her septum, caused by prolonged drug abuse Â
But the performer wouldn’t allow herself to stick with a total anti-drug message.
‘Or do [use drugs], I mean, everyone is going to have the experience they need to have with life,’ she clarified. ‘I’m not going to tell anyone what to do.Â
‘I don’t recommend it because it ruined my life.’
Jackson, who celebrated five years of sobriety earlier this year, added that she was hesitant to have surgery to fix the perforation because she was ‘almost six years sober’ and feared that the after-effects of the procedure could lead to a relapse.
‘You have to take pills when you do a surgery that gnarly,’ she shared. ‘And I don’t want to f*** with that.’
