Kym Marsh has said her late father David ‘would want to be here’ with her as she attended the Royal Television Society Programme Awards on Tuesday.
The former Coronation Street star, 47, was very close with her father who died aged 78 in January following a battle with prostate cancer.
Speaking to MailOnline ahead of the ceremony, Kym told how she hoped to do her father ‘proud’ at the event where Waterloo Road was Nominated for Soap and Continuing Drama where she plays Nicky Walters.
She said: ‘My dad would want to be here right now. He would want to be here. He would just love this. He was always very very interested in my career, very interested in what I was doing.
‘And he would just want me to continue what I have been doing this whole time. So hopefully I will make him proud and maybe we will take the award home today. You never know.’
