Kylie Minogue kicked off her highly anticipated Tension Tour in Perth on Saturday, but many fans were left feeling disappointed.
The iconic Australian singer, 56, commenced her tour at Perth’s RAC Arena over the weekend.
However, many who attended or viewed footage of the show online criticised the star for what they described as a ‘boring and dull’ production.
Kylie took to Instagram after the performance to share a series of images from the anticipated show.
‘TENSION TOUR …. We have LIFT OFF. Oh Perth, what a special group of Lovers to share opening night with! The VIBES. The FEELS. I love you all so much. NEXT STOP: Adelaide,’ the Padum Padum hitmaker wrote.
However, it appears the feeling wasn’t mutual as fans flooded the comments to slam what they said was a very lacklustre show.

‘Unbelievably dull and monotonous,’ one fan declared.
‘After months of silence and anticipation, this is what you return with? A tour that feels this cheap, underwhelming and poorly executed!’
Another chimed in, complaining that the production lacked the creativity of Kylie’s previous tours.
‘Kylie, what’s wrong with you? This is supposed to be a tour, not a TV show,’ they commented.
‘And a tv show would be better than this…That simplicity ? Lack of imagination I guess… I’m disappointed.’
Another agreed, adding: ‘Kylie used to put together the most dazzling, inventive and exciting shows with the most beautiful costumes and incredible musical direction… I don’t understand how we got here?’
Others were especially critical of Kylie’s choice of wardrobe, describing the fashionista’s stage garb as ‘disappointing.’
‘I would really appreciate a little more effort on the wardrobe,’ a fan commented. These dresses look like an afterthought.’

Yet another angry fan criticised Kylie for providing what they said was poor value for money.
‘Disappointed. What a lazy / generic show. I was very excited for this tour,’ they said.
‘This is not a good treat for your fans Kylie, those ticket prices deserve a better spectacle/production. ‘
According to Ticketek, tickets for the show range from $149 to $299.
The criticism didn’t end there either, with fans also flocking to the comments of a video Kyle shared of her celebrating with crew after the Perth show.
‘We love and support you, Queen. But let’s be honest, the structure of the show was disappointing,’ one wrote.
‘There was a lack of creativity. You set the bar high yourself. Bring back the magic of your tours!’
Another praised Kylie for her choice of set list but criticised the production for looking like a ‘kindergarten show.’

‘The music and set list are great but where is the show, Kylie? It just looks very cheaply put together just to make money for the label,’ they wrote.
‘We have been waiting for a world tour for over 10 years … this feels like a kindergarten show.’
It wasn’t all negativity however with many fans praising the show.
‘The best night!! Have been to all the Kylie concerts for over 20 years now with my mama and sister and we loved every minute,’ one fan exclaimed.
‘Can’t believe the energy still after all these years. You’re a QUEEN.’
Another agreed with: Up there with one of the best nights of my life! Your show was so good I’m still on a high from it!’
Kylie’s Aussie fans are hoping she takes heed of the criticism with her tour continuing in Adelaide on Tuesday before rolling into Melbourne for three shows at Rod Laver Arena.
From there, the Tension tour will hit Brisbane for three shows before concluding with a three-night stand at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.
