Kyles Role in Jackie Os Hidden Drama

Kyles Role in Jackie Os Hidden Drama

There are some  'celebrities' who really get my goat.

If you're a regular reader, you'll know is probably the biggest offender, and the No. 2 slot is occupied by so-called 'celebrity' trainer .

I have personal reasons for my sheer disdain for both of these people, but I won't go into them here, lest I send my blood pressure soaring.

Instead, let me give you a few names of the Sydney women I do have a lot of time for.

There's Double Bay nude artist Dina Broadhurst, former  star and award-winning podcaster , and model and TV presenter Laura Csortan.

I've also got a soft spot for yoga studio owner Monique Pickles and model  - who I backed all the way after her recent online tit for tat with her ex.

Jackie O was once the relatable, slightly daggy mum - the perfect antidote to Kyle's loudmouth larrikin persona (the co-hosts are pictured in 2005)

At 51, Jackie looks phenomenal. She's sculpted her body, sharpened her style and - most importantly - has become a fully paid-up member of the eastern suburbs 'in-crowd'. But has she lost some of her appeal in the process? (Jackie is seen at 2025 Australian Fashion Week)

And how could I forget? Radio personality , the long-serving (some might say long-suffering) co-host of The Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS FM.

And it's Jackie I want to talk to you about today.

Unless you've been living under a rock you'll know that Jackie is .

During the bust-up, he called her out for being unprofessional and unfocused at work, chastising her for being too focused on astrology. (Excuse me, Kyle, some of us want to know about Saturn rising!)

Let's be honest, it was an uncomfortable, toe-curling listen. I turned the volume down because I felt like I was eavesdropping on an estranged couple's mediation session.

I certainly didn't blame Jackie when she tearfully left the studio and swiftly took a week of leave. I would have done the same.

But to assume this clash was simply about the moon rising in Capricorn, or Pisces being the superior star sign (yes, I just had a birthday), would be foolish.

In my opinion, this explosion has been years in the making. It's a sentiment I share with media commentator Rob McKnight - who laid out his reasons - though I arrived at the same conclusion by a different path.

After splitting from her husband, Jackie buddied up with PR guru Roxy Jacenko. That was just the start. She soon traded up to become besties with fashion mogul Pip Edwards (right)

Jackie's socialite transformation was complete when she holidayed in Bali in January 2024 with TV golden girl Carrie Bickmore, who also went through a similar post-divorce glow-up

Let me be clear: Jackie's transformation is for the better and she's allowed to evolve. But anyone can see the multimillion-dollar dynamic has now altered

'Come on, this isn't really about the stars and the moon, is it? This is about two people who were once perfectly in sync now seeming to orbit in opposite galaxies,' writes Amanda Goff of Kyle and Jackie O's nuclear falling-out

He provokes, she calms. He lobs grenades, she defuses them. Their chemistry is spot-on, and it's no wonder they're earning the money they're on.

But this is the part that I am grappling to say: Kyle's always been Kyle, whereas Jackie is no longer the Jackie we all fell in love with when the pair first linked up. Not really.

Let me be clear: her transformation is for the better and she's allowed to evolve.

But anyone can see the winning dynamic has now changed. Whimsical diversions into astrology, I fear, were just a glimpse.

Has Jackie’s eastern‑suburbs glow‑up created distance from the heartland western Sydney audience that loves KJO? And is any of it remotely relatable to new listeners in Melbourne they're so desperate to win over?

Has her evolution shifted the dynamic? Has the girl‑gang lifestyle, the woo‑woo podcasting and the swanky socialite hang‑outs tipped the balance?

I doubt star signs are the only issue here. Kyle's frustration is obvious, given how openly and publicly he dismisses her passion.

Come on, this isn't really about Mercury in retrograde, is it?

This is about two people who were once perfectly in sync now seeming to orbit in opposite galaxies. And yes, Kyle - you crossed the line yelling at Jackie on air. Every woman I know would agree: it was mean and humiliating. End of story.

As any woman over 40 will tell you, change is good. It's healthy.

But in radio - especially on a juggernaut like The Kyle and Jackie O Show - familiarity is what keeps listeners hooked.

Jackie's evolution is inspiring, while Kyle's identity remains resolutely the same. Neither is wrong. But now, these two stars must decide: keep drifting into separate universes, or find a way to shine together.
