Kyle Sandilands has mocked American rapper Machine Gun Kelly after the 33-year-old musician bowed to pressure from fans to change his name.
The hitmaker, born Colson Baker, is now calling himself ‘Machine’ after dropping his original stage name because it was thought to ‘glorify machine guns’.
‘That’ll fix everything, Machine Gun Kelly changes his name and the weapons problems in America will all dissolve…what an idiot!,’ Sandilands said.
The 52-rear-old shock jock made the comments during his Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday.
So far MGK has not made the change ‘official’, but News reported that the star asked photographers to call him ‘Machine’ during a red carpet appearance in Los Angeles last week.

MGK was urged to consider new stage handle after fans at a concert held up a sign saying ‘change your name’.
‘You look at the guy and he’s not a machine…you are not a machine bro,’ Sandilands continued, mocking the performer’s thin physique and peroxided hair.
He went to suggest that the performer should have called himself ‘Kelly’.
But Sandilands co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson disagreed, calling the suggestion ‘lame’.
‘What’s lame is to be called Machine, that’s ridiculous,’ Sandilands replied.
He continued to throw shade at the My Ex’s Best Friend singer, telling listeners that Machine ‘easily bruised’ and suggested the performer eat more meat burgers so he get ‘more iron into his diet.
It comes after Sandilands and Henderson confirmed their historic new radio deal earlier this week, that will see them expand to Melbourne.

On Wednesday morning, the Sydney-based radio duo signed a record-breaking $200million, 10-year deal live on-air – keeping them on the airwaves until 2034.
A spokesperson for ARN confirmed to Daily Mail Australia the deal means Kyle and Jackie’s KIIS FM work pals Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips will be out of a job and their Melbourne breakfast show will be finishing up in December.
Lauren broke down in tears while announcing the news to her listeners on Wednesday, sobbing that she didn’t want to ‘say goodbye to Melbourne’.
Jase and Lauren’s show was successful for KIIS FM, bringing in new listeners for the station and sitting third in the Melbourne market behind Fox FM’s Fifi Fev & Nick and GOLD104.3’s Christian O’Connell.
