Ali Krieger’s brother Kyle Krieger implied that his sister was ‘blindsided’ by the news her ex Ashlyn Harris had been dating actress Sophia Bush, in a social media post on Sunday.
Kyle posted a carousel of pictures after his sister Ali’s Gotham FC defeated the OL Reign 2-1 in Saturday’s NWSL championship match in San Diego, presumably referring to her former relationship with fellow soccer player Harris, 38, in the caption of the post.
‘Well going from being blindsided by the most heart-breaking news possible days before your retirement game – to leading Gotham FC through the playoffs to your first NWSL Championship victory?!?!’ he said. ‘It is really the most badass thing imaginable.’
Kyle, a video creator-photographer-film student, said he was ‘constantly in awe’ of the ‘perseverance, class and strength’ amid adversity Ali, 39, displayed on the road to the soccer championship.
‘Truly a surreal amount of focus to sustain your mental/physical health with 2 little ones, dad in hospice, and while playing and training in your last season,’ he said of Ali, who is retiring as an active player.

Kyle’s post came just more than two weeks after an insider told US Weekly on that the romance between Bush and Ashlyn Harris continues to thrive.
He wrapped up in saying, ‘Soak it all in. Congratulations on your game-changing career. You left it better than you found it, and we are all so lucky to have witnessed it.’
Ali told the AP after the game: ‘I don’t think I could dream of a better ending for myself. I just want to ride off into the sunset and enjoy this with my family and friends and kids, most importantly, and my teammates.
‘My back hurts, my calves hurt. I love it so much and it’s so much fun. But it’s time. This is the perfect ending for me.’
Kyle’s post came just more than two weeks after an insider told US Weekly on that the romance between Bush and Ashlyn Harris continues to thrive.
Harris and Bush, 41, ‘love being together’ and ‘love sports and want to do good in the world,’ an insider told the outlet on October 26.
‘It’s only been a couple of weeks since their first official date, but things already feel really natural between them,’ the insider said of the tandem, who were seen last month on an outing in Santa Monica, California.
Both are coming off contentious splits to their respective marriages: Bush has parted with businessman Grant Hughes, 42, while Harris made headlines in her breakup with Krieger, 39.
A second insider told the outlet that the Pasadena, California native, who appeared on the TV series One Tree Hill, first crossed paths with Harris in June at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in Cannes, France, and ‘sparks flew.’

The second source said that the romance between Bush – who has also been seen on Chicago P.D., Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and This Is Us – and Harris only began after their marriages to their former spouses were over.
Bush and Harris ‘bonded over their breakups and having to start over,’ the source said. ‘Sophia and Ashlyn insist they were just friends, but by all accounts, it was instant chemistry.’
Bush in August filed for divorce from Hughes after a 14-month marriage, alluding to the drastic life change in an Instagram post at the time.
‘Sometimes you have to remind yourself that you’re something special,’ Bush said. ‘That you can’t be replaced. Your heart, your mind, your conversation, your care, it can’t be replaced. By anyone.’
Harris, a Cocoa Beach, Florida, native, in September filed for divorce from Krieger, more than three years after they were wed in December of 2019 in Miami at the at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
The soccer players are parents to daughter Sloane, two, and son Ocean, 14 months.
Both Hughes and Krieger have put out statements in the wake of their aforementioned partings.
Hughes’ rep told Page Six last week, ‘Grant will always want the best for Sophia, and is supportive of all that makes her happy and fulfilled.’

Krieger last month alluded to Beyoncé’s famed 2016 album Lemonade – which includes allusions to having been cheated on – in a post that ahead of her NWSL soccer playoffs.
‘Preparing for playoffs while in my Beyoncé lemonade era,’ she said.
Harris announced her retirement from the sport in November of 2022. Both Harris, a goalkeeper, and Krieger, a defender, are two-time World Cup winners, in 2015 and 2019.
