She is known to fans as Park Avenue Princess, Charlotte York Goldenblatt.

Yet Sex And The City’s Kristin Davis proved herself to be versatile as she gave fans a glimpse into the early days of her career, before SATC.

Taking to Instagram, Kristin shared an unrecognisable throwback from her appearance as psychology student Jane in 1988 comedy slasher Doom Asylum.

Her character is characterized by her interest in psychology, her relationship with her psychiatrist parents, and her often impractical swimsuit and large glasses.

Aged just 23, the star rocked the character of Jane’s kooky look with aplomb, as she wore a pair of over-sized glasses and a turquoise bodysuit, while her trademark glossy hair was worn in a dramatic backcombed style.

She added a caption reading: ‘This is how I got into the union, a low-budget horror film. Happy Labor Day!’ She was referencing how she became a member of the main actors’ union SAG-AFTRA, to provide professional protection.

To become a member an actor typically need to work one full day as a principal (speaking role) or three days as a background actor.

Kristin starred as Charlotte in Sex And The City, which ran from 1998 to 2004 with 94 episodes across six series, its 2008 and 2010 movies, and on spin-off And Just Like That’s three seasons, running from 2021 to this year.

When AJLT first hit screens in 2021, fans of the original show – which ran from 1998 to 2004 with 94 episodes across six series – waited with baited breath to revisit Carrie’s story, in the wake of the less than palatable 2008 and 2010 movies.

Her new post comes after Kristin spoke in an interview about her body image and a comment made by her co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Carrie Bradshaw.

She said: ‘There were times when Sarah Jessica would be like, ‘You have body dysmorphia,’I’d be like, ‘I don’t think I do,’ because the world is literally telling me daily that I am pear-shaped. So much to the point where you can’t think straight.”

Kristin spoke about the extremes she would go to with her diet and navigating her body image while in the glare of the spotlight.

She went on: ‘You’re starving yourself. I remember fainting in a parking lot one time, because I was on some crazy diet’.

Kristin explained that her self-esteem, at the time, was also derailed by back-handed compliments from fans out in public.

She regaled: ‘There was a good number of years when… people would see me on the street and they would say, “Oh, but you’re not fat.” And I know they didn’t mean anything bad. They mean it as a compliment, right?…

‘But it’s because I’m standing next to Sarah Jessica. Or, “You’re prettier in person.” And I’m just like, well, okay.’

The star confessed that it is difficult being ‘confronted with’ her ‘younger self at all times.’ She said: ‘It’s a challenge to remember that you don’t have to look like that. The internet wants you to — but they also don’t want you to. They’re very conflicted

She also reflected on how she has done fillers that have looked ‘good’ and some that haven’t over the years. She said: ‘I’ve had to get them dissolved and I’ve been ridiculed relentlessly. And I have shed tears about it. It’s very stressful’.
