Kristin Cavallari Shares Update on Lauren Conrad After Ending Feud

Kristin Cavallari has revealed the state of her relationship with her former Laguna Beach rival Lauren Conrad after the two buried the hatchet.

The pair famously were in a messy love triangle with co-star Stephen Colletti, now 39, but recently reunited in a selfie where she joked ‘everyone can put away their team Lauren and team Kristin shirts now.’

On the latest episode of her podcast, Let’s Be Honest, Cavallari, 38, chatted with pal Justin Anderson about filming the Laguna Beach reunion  – where she revealed she and Conrad, 39, are now pals.

‘I just got back from Laguna. I filmed the Laguna Beach reunion, which was awesome,’ she said.

‘So between that and now you being here, I just feel like the world is healing… like you’re back on the pod, Lauren and I are friends.’

Conrad revealed she initially did not want to participate in the reunion but is now ‘really happy’ she did, finding the experience ‘healing’ and ‘therapeutic.’

‘I don’t even know what I’m allowed to say or not say,’ she said. ‘It was such a great time.’

‘I’m not trying to be cheesy but it really was healing in a lot of ways,’ she said.

‘It was very therapeutic,’ she added. ‘It’s funny ’cause, if I’m being completely honest, I didn’t actually want to do it…. And I’m really, really happy that I did.’

It also marked a ‘nice way’ for Cavallari to close the Laguna Beach chapter.

‘It was such a great experience and just a nice way I think to end the whole Laguna Beach of it all,’ she said.

‘That’s going to come out in the spring, I think April, but TBD on that, I’ll keep everyone posted,’ she added.

The women sent fans into a frenzy earlier this month when Cavallari shared a snap of herself with Conrad.

She even poked fun at the rumored divide in the caption, writing, ‘Everyone can put away their team Lauren and team Kristin shirts now.’

The ladies stood with their arms around each other as they both smiled ear to ear towards the camera.

Conrad donned a chic white, button-down tank top and matching trousers while Cavallari opted for a black mini skirt and crop top, which she paired with a dark jacket.

Cavallari and Conrad (seen with their costars in the early 2000s) were embroiled in one of the most famous feuds of the 2000s, but now, decades on, they have put the drama behind them

The two women starred in Laguna Beach together in 2004, which saw them become entangled in a messy love triangle with costar Stephen Colletti.

The drama engrossed millions of viewers who soon began to pick sides between ‘team Conrad’ and ‘team Cavallari.’

The show went on for three seasons before concluding in 2006; Conrad famously went on to star in the spin-off The Hills but was replaced by Cavallari during the fifth season.

In the years afterwards, the ladies spoke about the status of their friendship, or lack thereof, on numerous occasions, which only heightened rumors of a rivalry.

‘We are not going to lunch together and I don’t have her phone number, but we are cool,’ Cavallari said in 2010.

‘I don’t talk to Kristin anymore,’ Conrad said to Us Weekly in 2012.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen months later, Cavallari alleged that a lot of the drama on the show had been ‘faked’ for views.

But when asked if her ‘distaste’ for Conrad was fake, she boldly stated, ‘No.’

‘I feel like [producers] put things in our heads. I mean, we were 17 and 18. They made it a lot worse than it was,’ she added.

When asked about the feud by Entertainment Tonight in 2020, Cavallari hinted that she and Conrad had put it behind them.

‘So much time has passed and what we went through was so silly and it was so high school that I’m pretty sure we’re both over it at this point,’ she said.

In November 2022, the former costars sat down together for a rare joint interview on the Asking for a Friend podcast, and they addressed the drama once and for all.

‘We had an issue with each other, but it had been squashed [by the time filming started],’ Conrad explained.

‘I think what happened is [producers] kind of saw this as, like, a starting point. And then they ran with it. I mean, I don’t think we were, like, best friends. But we were like, “It’s fine.”‘

‘My take on it is, you and I never really had any beef. Really. I mean, obviously there was a little truth to what happened with the three of us,’ Cavallari added.

‘But I felt like MTV coming kept it alive and made it way worse than it ever would have been.’
