Kristen Stewart has hinted that her sex scenes in upcoming lesbian thriller movie Love Lies Bleeding will ‘shock people’.
The actress, 33, is gearing up for the release of LGBTQIA+ romance movie, which sees her star as reclusive Lou alongside Katy O’Brian’s character Jackie.
The film, slated for release in March, is set in the backdrop of the 1980s and follows gym manager Lou and bodybuilder Jackie as they form feelings for one another after a chance encounter.
And Kristen has teased that the queer thriller features sex scenes that will ‘shock people’ as she criticised intimate moments on screen as being almost mechanical.
‘They don’t take their clothes off, but this is going to shock people,’ she told Variety Magazine in a new interview.

‘All you ever see is a dress coming up and a head going down under. I think even hetero sex on film is so rote… No one actually really wants to reveal themselves.’
Kristen also said she found it ‘really sexy’ to portray a more masculine character, rather than the traditionally feminine roles that propelled her into the spotlight.
She explained: ‘There was something about having the things that I have found attractive be really glorified.
‘It was really sexy, and I don’t mean from an outsider’s perspective: I felt turned on by it, and it was cool to have people witness that.’
Love Lies Bleeding is the second feature film from writer and director Rose Glass, which she co-wrote alongside Weronika Tofilska.
The thriller follows Lou (Kristen) and Jackie (Katy) as they form an electric romantic connection, but Lou’s father’s violent business dealings quickly start to impact their relationship.
The synopsis reads: ‘Reclusive gym manager Lou falls hard for Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream.
‘But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family.’
Love Lies Bleeding features a whole host of stars making up the ensemble cast including Dave Franco, The Hunger Games’ Jena Malone and Anna Baryshnikov.

The film will make its worldwide premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, before it is slated for official release on March 8, 2024.
Kristen’s upcoming projects also include starring alongside Steven Yeun in the sci-fi romance Love Me.
Kristen is currently engaged to Dylan Meyer. The Twilight star and the screenwriter initially met on a film shoot in 2013, and the two crossed paths again years later, thanks to a shared friend.
‘The day that I met her, it was like all bets were off,’ Kristen said during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in November 2019.
