Kourtney Kardashian Barker was the first of the Kardashian-Jenner clan to have children of their own when she and Scott Disick welcomed their son Mason in 2009.
But even at age 30, the 46-year-old reality star admitted she felt totally unprepared for motherhood because ‘nobody told me what to do.’
‘I didn’t read any books, but the way that I felt, my maternal instinct, was to do attachment parenting,’ Barker said in her confessional on The Kardashians last Thursday.
‘Before I had [my daughter] Penelope though, I read the attachment parenting book and it was more intentional.’
The Lemme co-founder continued to work through her first pregnancy and afterwards because she ‘didn’t really think it was an option to not work.’
‘Now, I have the option not to work, and I feel grateful to be able to find what I connect to,’ Barker noted.

The half-Armenian beauty was discussing attachment parenting because she hosted a seminar with Being There author Erica Komisar at her $8.5M six-bedroom mansion inside the gated community Estates at the Oaks.
December 14 will mark Mason’s 16th birthday and son Reign’s 11th birthday, and Barker and Disick are also proud parents of 13-year-old daughter Penelope.
The Calabasas socialite ended her on/off nine-year relationship with the 42-year-old Talentless CEO in 2015 shortly after he was pictured canoodling with stylist Chloé Bartoli, and they’ve continue to clash over their kids’ education.
Barker exclaimed ‘Why do kids f***ing go to school?’ on her sister’s Khloé in Wonder Land podcast in April, adding that it is a ‘dated’ practice compared to homeschooling.
‘Scott strongly disagrees with Kourtney’s parenting style and finds her comments irresponsible,’ an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com in May.
‘Scott values hard work and sees school as essential and would never allow his kids to not attend. He feels Kourtney has changed and will have his children homeschooled over his dead body.’
Ironically, Disick dropped out of the private Ross School in his native Long Island, NY while the 5ft brunette holds a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts from the University of Arizona.
Last month, the Running Point guest star revealed he was seriously considering moving to New York City to be closer to his unnamed girlfriend, even selling his boat, but Mason managed to change his mind.
‘I talked to Mase, and he’s like, “You can’t actually move,”‘ Disick admitted on the November 6 episode of The Kardashians.
