Kit Harington was asked point blank if he’s seen the Game Of Thrones prequel series House Of The Dragon.
And the actor, 37 — who starred as Jon Snow for the entire eight season run of the original series on HBO — told the Associated Press this week: ‘I just can’t watch it.’
He made the confession while at the season three premiere of his latest series, Industry, in New York City.
Although he’s heard that House Of The Dragon is ‘wonderful,’ Kit said that it’s too soon for him to dive back into the Game Of Thrones universe.
‘I think it’s just, for me, I spent too long there [as an actor],’ the London, England native explained.
‘And I wish them all the best and I hear it’s wonderful and going really well, but I don’t think I’ll ever watch that show.’

Kit famously played the role of Jon Snow for the eight-season run of Game Of Thrones that went from April 2011 to May 2019
Kit also said that he doesn’t think he will watch Game Of Thrones again for ‘very many years.’
‘It’s taken a few years to put it in the rearview,’ the actor said, before clarifying: ‘I’m still unsure whether it is fully in the rearview mirror. I think it takes a long time.’
It’s easy to see why Harington would need so much time to fully move on from the show considering he met his future wife, Rose Leslie, while doing the show.
On top of starting a family together, which includes welcoming a three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter to the world, Harington appeared to be very vested in his character and the show as a whole when it was time to say goodbye after season eight in 2019.
‘I feel like my heart is breaking. I love this show more than, I think, anything,’ he told the cast and crew on his last day of filming, which was seen in the HBO documentary The Last Watch.
‘It has never been a job for me. It’s been my life and this will always be the greatest thing I’ll ever do and be a part of.’
It turns out, Harington’s co-star Emilia Clarke, who portrayed the role of Daenerys Targaryen, has also admitted that she too ‘still can’t watch the show,’ during an interview with People in June.
‘I just don’t know what it is. I feel so content and happy with what my experience was, that I think watching the new one would just feel so odd, I think, she explained, before sharing how ‘absolutely amazing’ it is to see the success of the spinoff.
‘I really so fully support the entire thing and everyone who’s made it and it’s beautiful how successful it’s been,’ the British actress added.
The prequel series begins about 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen conquest, nearly 200 years before the events of Game Of Thrones and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.
The series premiere was watched by over 10 million viewers across the traditional linear channels and HBO Max on the first day, the biggest in HBO’s history, as reported by CNBC.
