In a move certain to create a fan frenzy, Kim Kardashian has re-posted a fanmade AI video of her indulging in the ultimate celebrity smash-and-grab.
The cheeky clip showed a digital version of Kim stealing the original 1984 Hermès Birkin bag, which Sotheby’s just sold at auction for $10 million.
Named after songstress Jane Birkin, the lover and muse of French musical icon Serge Gainsbourg, the bags have become a status symbol coveted around the world.
During the original run of Sex and the City, Kim Cattrall’s man-eating PR whiz Samantha spent a whole episode going to increasingly desperate lengths to secure a Birkin and cement her position as a Manhattan fashion doyenne.
Now an Instagram account called RickDick has posted a sly video making fun of the frenzy around the bag, with Kim as its principal character.

Fans reacted with hilarity in the comments of the original video, posting streams of crying laughing emoji and exclaiming that that they were ‘Screaming.’
One viewer took a wry dig at Kim’s friendship with Jeff Bezos’ new wife Lauren Sanchez, writing: ‘Mrs Bezos keeping the engine running outside.’
‘Brava Kim, it was yours,’ an Instagram joked in Italian with a polishing-nails emoji, as another spilled that he was ‘Howlinggggggg’ at the clip.
As the AI fan video went viral on social media, it managed to catch the attention of Kim herself, who re-posted it to her Insta Stories.
The computer-generated outfit in the clip was based on the outfit Kim wore for her controversial recent runway walk at Paris Fashion Week, which left fans sniggering that she looked ‘drunk’ or like a ‘tired toddler.’
Her mother Kris Jenner proudly posted a video of Kim on the catwalk for Balenciaga at Paris Fashion Week – the brand’s final show under designer Demna Gvasalia.
But although her supermodel sister Kendall Jenner is an expert at working the runway, Kim’s performance left viewers falling over themselves with laughter.
One fan leapt into the comments and tagged Kendall, asking: ‘can you help your sister’ as another giggled: ‘Go kim give us nothing.’

‘This is how I walk after having 2 margaritas and I’m trying to be inconspicuous when I’m actually intoxicated,’ cracked one Instagram user of Kim, 44.
‘Walking discreetly to the bathroom after eating Taco Bell,’ quipped another, as another compared her to ‘Me sleepwalking from the potty back to my bed at 4am.’
‘Beautiful girl but looks like she’s a bored housewife who’s had too many sherrys and coming to answer the door,’ a fan remarked drily.

One of the snaps was of a bag on a desk strewn with papers – one of which was a United States Supreme Court ruling involving child pornography.
A particularly controversial photo showed a child lying down on a couch next to a coffee table with empty wineglasses and Stella Artois chalices.
Although Kim was not part of the campaign, her past association with the brand made her a lightning rod for the furious backlash.
Under gathering pressure, she issued a statement denouncing the campaign, saying she was ‘disgusted’ and ‘outraged’ by the pictures.
‘I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with – & the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children,’ she said, before ultimately retaining her connection to the fashion house.
