Kim Kardashian celebrates daughter Chicago’s 8th birthday as she posts tribute to her ‘sweet baby girl’

Kim Kardashian’s youngest daughter Chicago West celebrated her eighth birthday on Thursday, January 15.

And the reality TV star, 45, took to Instagram to post a heartfelt tribute that included photos of Chicago taken through the years.

Chicago is one of four children Kardashian shares with her ex-husband Kanye West, whom she reunited with for Christmas despite their tense co-parenting relationship.

‘Happy birthday to my sweet baby girl Chicago! 8 years old is just so big! Where did the time go?!’ Kardashian began in her post’s caption.

‘You bring so may laughs and cart wheels into our world. I love you soooo much my special Chi Chi !’

Many of Chicago’s other family members, including her grandmother Kris Jenner and aunt Khloe Kardashian, shared posts in honor of the eight-year-old’s birth.

As part of her post, Kardashian uploaded throwback photos of herself with Chicago as well as Chicago with her siblings North, 12, Saint, nine, and Psalm, six.

Many of the photos depicted Kardashian and her kids’ past adventures and cozy family sleepovers, including trips to Lake Tahoe, lavish birthday parties and VIP experiences.

Chicago’s cousin Dream, nine, and her grandmother Kris, 70, made cameos in two of the photos. 

Kardashian included several sweet mother-daughter selfies, many of which showed Chicago looking like the SKIMS founder’s mini-me.

One snapshot showed Chicago showing off her hot pink ski outfit during a snowy getaway.

Kardashian also shared a photobooth snapshot of her kissing her youngest daughter on the cheek during their Christmas holiday party in 2024.

Later in the day, Kardashian’s mom Kris Jenner posted a gushing tribute to Chicago on Instagram, where she expressed her disbelief over the child now being eight years old. 

‘Happy birthday to our precious Chi Chi! I can’t believe you are eight today!!! Time flies so fast,’ the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch penned.

‘You bring such joy, warmth, and love into our lives, and it’s impossible not to smile when you’re around. You remind me so much of your mommy when she was your age.

‘You are kind, funny, thoughtful, caring full of love, and the smartest little girl. I’m endlessly proud of the bright, creative, and amazing little lady you’re becoming.

‘You are an incredible granddaughter, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend, and I love you endlessly, my sweet angel. Happy birthday Chicago! Lovey xo,’ Jenner concluded.

Chicago’s aunt Khloe didn’t post a tribute to her Instagram feed but she did share footage from the little girl’s birthday party to her Instagram Story on Thursday.

The 41-year-old Good American founder seemingly took Chicago, her siblings and her cousins to an arcade to celebrate.

She uploaded a video of herself cozying up to Chicago during a brief lull in the action.

‘I’m here with the birthday girl,’ Khloe exclaimed as Chicago leaned in next to her while flashing two peace signs at the camera. 

Chicago’s birthday celebration comes shortly after Kardashian and her four kids spent the Christmas holidays with her ex-husband Kanye West. 

According to TMZ, the former couple put aside their long-running differences to celebrate the holidays as a family, with sources describing the atmosphere as cordial and focused on their children.

Sources with direct knowledge told the outlet that the exes were respectful toward one another and are actively working on improving their co-parenting relationship, marking a notable shift after years of estrangement and public conflict.

The reconciliation comes after what TMZ described as a sustained effort by West to reflect on his past behavior. 

Sources said the rapper has been ‘working on himself’ and has spent considerable time reassessing his actions earlier this year, including his widely condemned antisemitic remarks and praise of Adolf Hitler.

The holiday reunion stands in sharp contrast to Kardashian’s recent public admissions about the strain of co-parenting with West.

Last month, the SKIMS founder spoke candidly about their challenges on an episode of The Kardashians, admitting the relationship sometimes pushes her to the brink.

During a car ride with Scott Disick, Kardashian said she finds it ‘frustrating’ when West questions her ‘character as a mom.’

‘Sometimes I just feel like snapping, but I can’t. I just can’t,’ she said.

Kardashian emphasized that her priority remains providing stability for their children, saying her ‘only focus and job’ is to stay ‘strong’ as the more consistent and present parent. 

When an off-camera producer pointed out that her ex is ‘very loud out there,’ she replied, ‘I just can’t really engage. I think it’s just for the better.’
