Kim Kardashian wore a custom Maison Margiela by John Galliano look for the 2024 Met Gala, which took place on Monday, May 6.
The star, 43, revealed to Vogue via their YouTube page that she has been wanting to work with John for years.
‘This has been a partnership, I’d say maybe four or five years in the making. To put it lightly, that is about four or five years of me stalking him to try to see if he would ever design a look for me for the Met,’ Kim explained.
‘It finally just connected and it was a dream to get to know him to spend time with him.’

Kim continued: ‘For me, I would even want to do him so much more justice because I just know the human being that he is.’
‘This year for the Met, I am wearing a custom John Galliano Margiela couture gown. So many amazing looks from every house that John has been with has been on my mood board for years,’ Kim said.
‘The second Margiela show I had been to and I was so inspired by it. I mean I loved that it was corsets and the bodies and it was like the most theatrical, beautiful story,’ she added.
The star explained the story behind the dress and how it matched the theme of this year’s Met Gala, which was Sleeping BeautiesL Reawakening Fashion, with the dress code of Garden of Time.
The dress code is derived from J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name.
She said they played around with the theme, ‘imagining having the best night of your entire life, with your most magical person and you just are in a garden.’
‘You’ve overslept, you wake up after like literally the best night of your life,’ Kim added.

‘And I’m just like running… running out, my dress is falling off because it was one of those nights and I just grabbed my boyfriend’s sweater to run off to make it to where I have to be,’ she said.
The look consisted of a silvery corset with a metal floral maxi skirt, and a casual gray shrug over her shoulders.
The star chatted about it being her 11th Met Gala she has attended.
