Khloe Kardashian reveals what triggers her when rewatching ‘old clips’ of herself

Khloe Kardashian is getting real about the invasive scrutiny she faced in her early years of fame.

The 40-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum, who first appeared on the reality series when it premiered in 2007, opened up about being asked inappropriate, sexually charged questions as a young woman.

The Good American founder addressed the issue on the latest episode of her podcast Khloe in Wonderland, where she discussed the pitfalls of fame with plus-size model Remi Bader.

‘I remember when we started being on TV when I was 21 or 22,’ Khloé recalled. ‘I remember the questions people would ask, and it was a different time then too, they would ask such intrusive questions.’

Looking back, she finds it shocking that adults felt entitled to pry into such personal topics.

‘Now, when I see old clips of myself, I’m like, “The audacity that even that adult thinks I should answer that.”‘

Khloé went on to explain that some of the invasive questions had a sexual nature, which she found particularly inappropriate.

‘It could be a sexual thing,’ she said. ‘It doesn’t even mean I’m doing that thing. I just don’t think that’s for you to even have out there—if I am or if I’m not.’

Now a mother of two, Khloé credits age and experience for helping her establish boundaries in an industry that often blurs them.

‘The older you get or the more wisdom you get,’ she shared. ‘You do set those boundaries for yourself.’

Along with battling the invasive questions, Khloe has long faced speculation about her changing appearance, but she has consistently pushed back against the rumors.

In a 2013 interview with Cosmopolitan UK, she made it clear that, at the time, she had never undergone surgery for her body—though she wasn’t entirely opposed to the idea in the future.

‘I’m proud for losing weight when I wanted to and I’ve never resorted to surgery. I’m not against it—one day I probably will, but it would be on my terms,’ she stated.

‘I won’t be bullied into it by social media or anyone else. I love my body and always have.’

Over the years, Kardashian wowed fans with her transformation, famously dubbing it her revenge body.

Reflecting on her past, she once posted a side-by-side comparison of herself at the start of her career versus now, writing, ‘Looking back at pictures of myself I didn’t realize at the time how unhealthy my lifestyle actually was.’

She also addressed the criticism she endured early on: ‘People love to call me the fat one, but as weird as it sounds, I still don’t think I would consider myself fat back then. Definitely overweight and unhealthy, yes. About two years ago I decided to turn to fitness as a form of therapy and as a stress reliever.”‘

Khloe credited exercise with transforming not just her body but also her mindset.

‘I started slow and eventually I started working out 4 to 5 days a week. We all have to start somewhere, and doing something is better than nothing at all. Working out is a huge part of my life now. I genuinely enjoy sweating out my frustrations and living a healthier life. My workouts are not all about vanity. They are about clarity for my mind and soul.’

In April 2022, the star hit back at claims that she secretly used butt implants in order to create her famous curves.

One fans wrote underneath a video of the star working out: ‘Omg u can see her implants when stretching. A 2nd layer of her bum on top of her bum.’

Kardashian chimed in to correct the commenter and wrote: ‘Lol silly goose. It’s the seam design of the leggings. that’s so funny ha! You guys just want to believe anything bad.’

Khloé went on to explain that some of the invasive questions had a sexual nature, which she found particularly inappropriate. 'It could be a sexual thing,' she said. Meanwhile, after the infamous unedited image landed online in 2021, Kardashian addressed the drama on Instagram days later as she shared live videos of herself to prove that her body ‘isn’t photoshopped.’

Subsequently she issued a lengthy statement where she spoke about the pressure of being in the spotlight and her body being ‘micro-analyzed’ as a public figure.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star also revealed that being compared unfavorably to her siblings, Kim and Kourtney, in addition to ‘constant ridicule and judgment’ has been ‘too much to bear.’

An excerpt from her message read: ‘As someone who has struggled with body image her whole life, when someone takes a photo of you that isn’t flattering in bad lighting or doesn’t capture your body the way it is after working so hard to get it to this point — and then shares it to the world, you should have every right to ask for it to not be shared, regardless of who you are.’
