Kevin Hart has claimed to be in a very VIP group.
When doing the rounds to promote his action-comedy movie Lift, which hits Netflix on Friday, the comedian revealed that he is a part of a very secret, very elite group text message.
The star – who defended Jo Koy after his Golden Globes opening monologue – said he often chats with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Jet Li and Jackie Chan.
‘Yup. All the biggest guys,’ Hart, 44, told People at the premiere of Lift in New York City. ‘You know, we just talk about action stuff,’ he joked.
‘It’s a real secret chat, I shouldn’t be talking to you about this chat,’ he disclosed. ‘I could get in a lot of trouble from the other action guys.’

Now that the Central Intelligence star is a bona-fide action star, he has things to discuss with denizens of the genre.
‘We just share action stories that’s the thing, when you’re an action guy, you have to have action stories so our chat is all about ping-ponging action stories and just making sure that everyone’s in sync you know? That’s what it’s about,’ he told the outlet.
Hart has appeared in three films with Johnson: including Central Intelligence (2016), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw (2019).
He hasn’t worked with anyone else in his supposed super secret group chat full of superstars.
But he did bond with his co-stars on Lift, including Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ursula Corbero and Sam Worthington.
‘I think there was a consistent continuous engagement that the cast stayed true to,’ he told People.
‘The days on set ended with us in hotels eating dinner together. Whether it was all together or some on different days, there was an amazing piece of connectivity that ultimately added great value to what we got here.’
Lift is about a master thief who is convinced by his ex-girlfriend and the FBI to pull off an impossible heist with his international crew on a 777 passenger flight from London to Zurich.
Hart stood up for comedian Jo Koy after his Golden Globes hosting gig was largely labeled disastrous.
‘I think Jo Koy is an amazing comedian, always has been,’ Hart told DailyMail.com when asked about his performance. ‘

‘It’s a tough room, and without the knowledge and understanding of how to navigate a room – you can have some moments, some bumps.’
‘Jo Koy is a talented, funny f**king guy, and forever will be. People want to highlight the world of bad but Jo will be good and always has been,’ he said.
Asked by DailyMail.com if he would ever consider hosting a big awards show again, Hart gave a firm no.
‘I’m at a point in my career where there’s no value in it for me,’ he said. ‘But I do think that it does provide an amazing amount of visibility and a platform of exposure, but it’s something that it’s not the easiest.’
