Kevin Federline: Sons Speak with Britney Spears After Cutting Contact

Kevin Federline is now claiming the two sons he shares with Britney Spears have been in communication with their mother – after alleging they had cut off contact with her. 

During an appearance on Talk Shop Live, Federline, 47, said their sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, have spoken with their mother after his controversial memoir, You Thought You Knew, was released. 

‘We haven’t talked specifically, but I know that she’s talked to our sons, which is good,’ he said.

‘I’m really hoping that through all of this, through all this turmoil, that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I see it, but it’s gonna be a difficult road and it’s gonna take time,’ he added. 

The interviewer noted that, in his book, Federline had said he had written the memoir with the hopes of mending the relationship Spears has with her sons. 

Federline said his sons ‘are trying to find a way to mend a bond between their mom. I think it’s definitely a possibility.’ 

The backlash over the memoir hasn’t deterred Federline for speaking up either, saying he’s doing it all for their sons. 

‘I know that a lot of people think that this book hurts that situation, but we’ve done everything else,’ he said. ‘We’ve tried every single thing. And when you’re dealing with a situation like this, if I have to be the bad guy and everybody has to hate me, well, so be it. I’ll do that for my kids to be able to have a relationship with their mother.’ 

Federline also said he wanted their kids to have a relationship with Spears: ‘They absolutely love their mom, right? I mean, they always have, always will.

‘It’s instilled in them. That’s something I’ve always wanted for them to have a connection with their mom, the way I have with my mom.’

The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Spears for comment but did not immediately hear back. 

His latest update comes after Federline claimed their sons had cut off contact with their mother again after witnessing ‘shocking things’ at her home.

The former back-up dancer alleged that their boys were ‘terrified’, and that one of them expressed fears that ‘mom is going to die.’ He made the shocking claims on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

‘[Britney] saw one of my sons one day this year, and he decided not to go back over there because of what he saw,’ he said in reference to Sean Preston.

‘The other one, Jayden, who’s my younger son, is 19 now — he’s been over there quite a few times over the past year, and he’s stopped seeing her in the last few months because of the situation.’

After he was asked why his sons don’t ‘want to be around her’ and what exactly they have seen, the former backup dancer said, ‘That’s not my story to tell.’

‘That’s my sons’ story to tell if they decide to. I mean, the things that they’ve seen are shocking, right?’ Federline said.

It came after worrying footage and photos obtained by the Daily Mail, showed the troubled pop star looking unsteady at an upscale restaurant before swerving her car into the wrong lane of a highway, amid reports that Federline’s new memoir was ‘putting her in a tailspin.’

‘So shocking that one of my sons came to me and called me and was like, “I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid Mom is going to die.”‘

When Piers inquired if their sons were worried because of ‘substance abuse’ Federline replied, ‘absolutely.’

Federline says their sons are ‘worried about their mom,’ and that they ‘don’t know how to help because of what all of this has cost.’

Federline added that he wants Spears to ‘be able to share the type of relationship that I have with our kids.’

‘This isn’t about bringing her down. This is about telling the truth and trying to build her back up.’

Following her 2007 divorce from Federline, and after her 13-year long conservatorship began in 2008, Federline had majority custody of the boys, who later moved with him to Hawaii.

In 2022 Federline revealed that the boys were estranged from their mother, and though there have been attempts at reconciliation since, they appear to have broken contact once again.

In his newly released memoir, You Thought You Knew, Federline recounts several episodes in which he alleges Britney acted erratically around their sons.

Federline, who was married to the Toxic singer from 2004 to 2007, claims Spears ‘punched’ Preston in the face, knowingly gave Jayden shellfish despite his allergy, and at one point wished both children ‘dead.’

He also alleged that Spears reportedly watched her children sleep while standing outside their room holding a ‘knife in her hand’ and used cocaine while breastfeeding.

Britney slammed Kevin over his memoir in a message that also hit out against their two sons prior to the books’ release. 

The Toxic hitmaker said she’s ‘had enough’ in an emotional Instagram post, writing, ‘The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting.’

Spears’s representatives previously told the Daily Mail that Federline and others are ‘profiting off her,’ noting that child support arrangements with Federline had already concluded.

‘With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,’ the spokesman said. ‘All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism.’
