The war of words between Britney Spears’ ex-husbands is heating up, with Kevin Federline hitting Sam Asghari one more time on Wednesday.
Federline, 47, made his remarks hours before Spears herself fired off on him on social media on Wednesday, as the Grammy-winning singer, 43, said she felt gaslit by his antics.
Pertaining to his conflict with Asghari, Federline spoke to Entertainment Tonight as he promotes his tell-all about the pop superstar titled You Thought You Knew, which is due out October 21.
After Asghari took aim at Federline’s lifestyle – calling him ‘a professional father’ – the dad-of-six fired back, saying he has ‘a hard time having any kind of respect for’ the 31-year-old actor-model.
Federline questioned Asghari’s motives getting into a relationship with Spears amid her conservatorship battle: ‘What kind of man gets himself in a situation like the one he got himself into with her?’

Federline was wed to the …Baby One More Time songstress from 2004 thru 2007, and they share sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19. Asghari and Spears were wed for more than a year before separating.
Federline is also father to daughter Kori, 23, and son Kaleb, 21, with actress Shar Jackson, 49; and two daughters Jordan, 14, and Peyton, 11, with his wife, former volleyball player Victoria Prince, 42.
In the interview with ET, Federline said that he felt Asghari was ignorant about his about the nature of his relationship and marriage to Spears.
Federline told ET he felt Asghari was too young to comprehend it: ‘When me and Britney were together, he was probably 10 or 12-years-old.
‘So he doesn’t understand where the roots of this thing are.’
Federline noted the timeline of his relationship with Spears, as he said, ‘I was with her before all of this happened, right?
‘There was real true emotion there – there was a real true relationship there – and I’m not saying that theirs wasn’t.’
Federline said said that Asghari was not in any position to judge him, as someone who does not have children and cannot understand the mindset.

‘I’m still looking at him as man, and you’re judging me as a father, and you’ve never had kids – it doesn’t matter what he says – it matters what my children say,’ Federline said.
Federline told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday that he had the full support of his six children and putting out the book.
‘My kids are 100 percent behind me telling my story, which is a big reason why I waited,’ he said. ‘I wanted to make sure that they fully understood why I was doing this and wanted to make sure that they were all on board.’
Federline denied rumors he relocated to Hawaii in an effort to prolong his child support for his two sons, explaining that the move had no legal impact on his finances.
‘That, to me, right there, is like, just ridiculousness,’ Federline said. ‘Anybody that knows like California governs everything that happened with my kids, my custody, my divorce, all of that.’
Spears pushed back on Federline in a post on X/Twitter Wednesday night, in which she addressed his words in the book, as well as her relationship with their two children.
‘The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting,’ Spears said. ‘I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys. Relationships with teenage boys is complex.’
The pop superstar said she felt like she had exhausted every option in trying to rebuild her relationships with her sons.

Spears pushed back on Federline in a post on X/Twitter Wednesday night, in which she addressed his words in the book, as well as her relationship with their two children
‘I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life,’ Spears said. ‘Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by own father for me.’
Spears said of her sons ‘need to take responsibility for themselves’ as young adults, adding that she will always love them.
Spears added, ‘I have pride too … from now on I will let them know when I am available.’
Federline said in a news release of his upcoming book, ‘I achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced non-stop emotional turbulence.’
He added that ‘if you’ve ever had questions, you’ll find answers here.’
