Kerry Washington and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha made a rare public appearance together at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, which was held Sunday at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.
The 47-year-old Scandal alum donned a Giambattista Valli Haute Couture N°26 gown while the 42-year-old retired NFL star suited up in a classic Ralph Lauren tuxedo – both of which were selected by styling duo Rob Zangardi + Mariel Haenn.
The famously private, married couple of a decade originally met in 2009 backstage at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in Manhattan following her Broadway play Race.
Kerry and Nnamdi are proud parents of two children – daughter Isabelle, 9; and son Caleb, 7 – together, and he fathered 18-year-old daughter Anaiya during a previous relationship.
And while Washington – who boasts 20.4M followers – is arguably addicted to social media, posting a TikTok of her Oscar party glam on Sunday, she goes out of her way to exclude Asomugha and their children from her posts.

In her 2023 memoir Thicker Than Water, the Emmy-winning producer wrote that she secretly wore her engagement ring ‘pinned inside my clothing for fear that if people knew we were engaged, it would be impossible to have a wedding away from public spectacle.’
‘I’m in my immediate truth with [Nnamdi],’ Kerry cryptically confessed in her Marie Claire cover story last year.
‘Those mirrors are important because they help me get back to myself.’
Washington and the Emmy-nominated producer hung out with a far more public celebrity couple, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, while on the red carpet.
The Street You Grew Up On host and Asomugha made sure to pose with trailblazing fashion model Bethann Hardison inside the industry event.
Kerry and Nnamdi also mingled with the likes of Mr. & Mrs. Smith creator-star Donald Glover, his wife Michelle White, and Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson.
Washington will next join Jane Fonda for the fourth annual A Day of Unreasonable Conversation Summit, which will be held March 25 at the Getty Center in Los Angeles.
Hulu officially renewed the Bronx-born beauty’s daddy-daughter sitcom Unprisoned for a second season in November.

It’s been nearly a year since the Bronx-born beauty wrapped her role as the real-life Major Charity Adams in Tyler Perry’s upcoming WWII drama Six Triple Eight, which premieres later this year on Netflix
The Independent Spirit Award nominee (M, pictured in 2022) will next reunite with his The Good Nurse castmate Jessica Chastain (R) to play her husband in Melissa James Gibson’s eight-episode series, The Savant, which will stream on Apple TV+
It’s been nearly a year since Kerry wrapped her role as the real-life Major Charity Adams in Tyler Perry’s upcoming WWII drama Six Triple Eight, which premieres later this year on Netflix.
Washington also executive produced the adaptation of Kevin M. Hymel’s 2019 WWII History magazine article about the all-black, all-female 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion sorting over 17M pieces of mail ahead of time.
Six Triple Eight also features Sam Waterston, Susan Sarandon, Oprah Winfrey, Gregg Sulkin, and Dean Norris.
But it’s unclear if and when Lionsgate will ever release Joe Carnahan’s action thriller Shadow Force, which the two-time Golden Globe nominee wrapped way back in 2022.
Meanwhile, the Independent Spirit Award nominee will next reunite with his The Good Nurse castmate Jessica Chastain to play her husband in Melissa James Gibson’s eight-episode series, The Savant, which will stream on Apple TV+.
But it’s unclear what the status is on Nnamdi’s feature directorial debut The Knife, a psychological thriller he began casting in 2022.
