Kerry Katona Walks Off Stage During Live Event Due to Panic Attack

Kerry Katona has revealed she had to leave her live show with Katie Price after having a panic attack on stage.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, 45, is currently doing a tour with her friend Katie called An Evening With Katie Price & Kerry Katona.

But at her most recent show on Monday evening, Kerry suffered a panic attack when she was asked about her childhood.

Taking to Instagram, she explained: ‘Last night on stage I had a horrid, horrid, severe panic attack, like full on panic attack. I was so embarrassed.

‘I was there and the topic was our childhood, I don’t know where it came from but everything just went dead quiet.

‘I was looking at Kate and the host, and everything went fuzzy. My heart was going so fast. I thought, ‘I’m going to cry, I’m going to faint, I’ve got to walk off stage.”

Kerry has discussed her tumultuous childhood in the past. She was placed in care and brought up by four sets of foster parents and attended eight different schools.

The star left school at 16 and became a lap dancer and became a topless Page 3 girl when she was 17.

She said: ‘I think everyone thought I walked off because it was all too emotional, that wasn’t the case.

‘Then I had to drive home and there was so many people waiting outside for pictures and I always stop to have a picture taken but I had to get in the car.

‘I didn’t even ring [her boyfriend] Paolo, I just had to concntrate on the road. It was absolutely horrendous.

‘I felt so embarrassed so for anyone who was in the audience last night, thank you for understanding. If anyone suffers with panic attacks, it just came from nowhere.’

Kerry recent appeared on best magazine’s Suddenly Single podcast where she discussed her past drug use.

The star recalled how she would go on a ‘binger’ whenever her two eldest children would visit their father Brian McFadden in Ireland.

‘I went into rehab in 2005 when Brian left me. I had a full nervous breakdown,’ she said.

‘I used to do drugs with my mum, and Brian was like my knight in shining armour. He took me away from all that and we moved to Ireland.

‘When he left, I had to move back to England and went straight back to the same circle of friends, and my mum, and went straight back on the gear. My kids would go over to Ireland, and I’d go on a binger.

‘It’s not something I’m proud of. I can’t change it. I shouldn’t have done it, but I did. I overdosed twice and nearly died. I should have been dead.’

She also discussed her current relationship with Paolo Margaglione, who is 11 years her junior.

‘The guy I’m with now [Paolo], there’s 11 years between us. It’s a big age gap, and it’s not something I’ve deliberately gone for,’ she said.

‘If someone matches that energy and you have that connection, where every atom in your body goes on fire…I’ve never had that. It’s like being sucker punched in the stomach.

‘I’ve got it now! I hope it works, but even if it doesn’t, I’ll never forget this feeling. You see me falling in love [on Celebs Go Dating]. Even if this ends tomorrow, I don’t think I’ll have a feeling like this every again. I get really emotional because it scares me.

‘He gets me flowers all the time. I got back from Marbella and there was this big spread of beautiful roses saying ‘welcome home beautiful’. I don’t need big diamonds, it’s the thought that means more.’

Kerry recently revealed she almost became an escort with her mum at 16 years old before she landed a Page 3 modeling job.

Appearing on Paul C. Brunson’s podcast, We Need To Talk, she  revealed that she hoped to become a Page 3 model as she ‘wasn’t going to be a rocket scientist’.

She said: ‘I had a great set of t**s. Like, I’d been modeling since I was three… so I was, like, a really good-looking kid, you know, and I had these great boobs.’

Her mother, Sue, had sent off her portfolio of pictures, with the photographer asking if she’d be interested in doing topless photos.

Paul then asked the star to turn the topic back to the topless snaps for her portfolio, with Kerry admitting it was purely ‘her idea’.

The singer, who said she knew from a young age that she was going to be famous,  said she was even thinking about being an escort at the time.

Pausing to collect her emotions, Kerry continued: ‘And he convinced me to do open leg shots – but I’ve gone back to doing it on OnlyFans, gone back to my roots – and that came back to haunt me then, when I became famous, he sold all those pictures.

‘And Brian paid a fortune to try getting removed, and then I ended up going on OnlyFans and doing it anyways, the irony…’

Kerry is currently dating personal trainer Paolo Magaglione, 33, and has reportedly moved him into her home just two months after they met on Celebs Go Dating.

Prior to this she was in a six and a half year relationship with fiancé Ryan Mahoney before they split at the end of last year.

She was reportedly planning to have a child with Ryan before they split.

Kerry has daughters Molly, 22 and Lilly, 20 with her ex husband Brian McFadden who she was married to from 2002–2006.

She is also mum to Heidi, 17, and Max, 15, with ex husband Mark Croft and eight-year-old DJ from her relationship with the late George Kay.

Speaking about her upbringing on We Need To Talk, Kerry said: ‘There were always fights.

‘I mean, the things I saw my mum do I can’t even repeat because it’s so cruel. So cruel, some of the things I witnessed as a kid.’

She recalled one ex of her mother’s who she instantly felt uneasy around.

Kerry explained: ‘I had to pretend, had to call him dad. And I just had this instant fear of Dave, instant fear of him, like terrified of him.

‘And I remember him walking in my bedroom – and the first time I met him, he just fell flat on his face, drunk. I knew I had to pretend and laugh, because I knew his aura. I could tell the kind of man he was going to be.

‘This one time, I’d be seven or eight, maybe eight – babysitting on stale ketchup butties, because my mum was going on the p**s for three days. And I used to go do shopping by myself…

‘But this one time I remember I was in bed, my mum had been out, and she came in and she sat next to me and said, ‘Dave asked me to marry him.’

‘I went, ‘Don’t do it, mum… He’s going to beat you. He’s really going to beat you up.’ She went, ‘Kerry, 16 years, he’s never laid a finger on me.’

‘The next night, she came home, black and blue, and she had the side of a shotgun to her head.’

Kerry ended up going into witness protection with her mother as they attempted to flee the abuse.

‘We had to go into hiding,’ she explained. ‘And that’s when we got put… and I remember, because of who Dave was, and I remember the social services, or whoever it was who came to get us, like witness protection.

‘We had to go into hiding, and me mum had to dye her hair… and we ended up in Manchester in a refuge.

‘At one point, I couldn’t go to school in case Dave kidnapped me, so I had to get home schooled.’

It was later in life that she was told by a foster parent that Dave was in fact her biological father.

Reflecting on her childhood, she concluded: ‘The situations I’ve been put in as a child are, some of them are unspeakable. Some of them are so unspeakable that no child should ever be in, ever.’

Part one of Kerry Katona on We Need To Talk is out now. Part two was released on September 9.
