Kerry Katona has said she wanted her ex Brian McFadden to ‘rescue her’ before his heartbreaking stag night betrayal.
The Atomic Kitten star and Westlife member, both 45, were married from 2002 until 2006, and the former couple share daughters Molly, 24, and Lilly-Sue, 22.
But the romance was doomed from the start, with Brian admitting he cheated on Kerry on the night of his stag do with a lap dancer.
Now Kerry has opened up about how she went into the relationship hoping the Irish star would be her ‘knight in shining armour’ and save her from her troubled upbringing.
Kerry has since revealed that the singer’s infidelity triggered childhood trauma that stemmed from seeking approval from her mother Sue, who suffered with mental health issues, and spending time in foster homes.
Speaking to The Times on Thursday, Kerry said: ‘I thought he was my “forever”. We were puppies, babies, back then.

‘I wanted him to be my knight in shining armour and rescue me from my old life – but then he slept with a stripper on his stag night and was unfaithful.’
Elsewhere in the chat, Kerry revealed she has made ‘millions’ of pounds since joining adult site Only Fans.
The former glamour model joined adult website OnlyFans in 2020 during the Coronavirus pandemic.
And she revealed she made £160,000 in just the first month of rehearsals, adding that every penny goes to her four kids – who she insists are ‘too good’ for the site and won’t be doing it.
Kerry recently said she has no plans to give Only Fans up.
Writing in her latest OK! Magazine column, the mum-of-five shared how she plans to continue working on OnlyFans into retirement and that a well-known star is contemplating joining.
She explained: ‘I actually have some very interesting news that is gonna be coming out very soon about a certain celebrity pushing 70 who wants to do OnlyFans.’
While Kerry would not reveal the star’s identity, she insisted she would not want any of her kids working on the adult-sharing website.

She continued: ‘For me, this is all about women celebrating themselves and their sexuality without shame.
‘This is not just about young people. I get that some have a bad opinion about it – but I’m a grown-up and it’s my choice. Would I want my kids to do it? Absolutely not, haha!’
In September, Kerry appeared on Paul C. Brunson’s podcast, We Need To Talk, where shared how OnlyFans helped her financially after becoming bankrupt.
She explained: ‘I made about £175,000 in the first month.
‘I’ve made millions. I’ve made millions on it and I’ll continue to do it because it’s just too much money to turn down.’

Kerry previously revealed she thought about taking her own life when she was declared bankrupt in 2008.
The media personality was declared bankrupt after failing to pay £82,000 of a £417,000 tax bill, losing her £1.25million home in Wilmslow in the process.
Kerry filed for bankruptcy once more in 2013 at her local office in Wigan.
It is reported her legal woes didn’t stop there and that she filed for bankruptcy again in 2018, but this one didn’t go ahead.
