Kendall Jenner’s Bid to Become the Next Bond Girl: Experts Say It’d Boost the Franchise

Kendall Jenner’s Bid to Become the Next Bond Girl: Experts Say It’d Boost the Franchise

Kendall Jenner has emerged as bookies’ favourite to be cast as the next 007 Bond Girl, following in the trusted footsteps of Rosamund Pike, Halle Berry and Ana de Armas.

The supermodel, who turned 30 last month, recently revealed plans to quit modeling for a drastically different new career.

With her 818 Tequila brand already well-established and a modelling resume off the charts, it’s no surprise Kendall may be wanting to dip her toes in a new industry.

Since becoming the frontrunner, Kendall’s mother Kris Jenner pulled off an epic 007-themed birthday bash, where Kendall channeled her inner Bond Girl in a ruby red gown.

Her sister Kim, meanwhile, wore a very similar dress to what Halle sported in the 2002 movie Die Another Day.

Halle, 59, memorably wore the risqué frock when meeting James Bond face-to-face at a swanky party.

Kim, whose series All’s Fair has received scathing reviews, modeled almost an exact same version of the lavender dress, complete with the low-cut back.

Kendall showed she already has that ‘Bond look’ and proved she was personally a fan of the franchise when she channeled actress Ursula in a tiny white bikini in 2019.

She showed off her statuesque frame as she sauntered across the beach, calling to mind the 1962 film’s famous Bond girl moment.

Brand and Culture Expert Nick Ede told Daily Mail that casting the supermodel will be a ‘brilliant and modern move’ in bringing a whole new generation of fans to the much-loved franchise.

He said: ‘To cast her in the new franchise would be a brilliant and very modern move.

‘She fits the mould of the classic Bond woman, effortlessly glamorous, poised, and mysterious but she also brings a more current edge that could completely redefine the role and take away from the stereotype we’ve become accustomed to.

‘What makes Kendall so interesting is that she’s not just a model she’s a brand in herself.

‘Turning 30 marks a new chapter, and with her success in business with her 818 Tequila and her growing confidence on screen, she’s clearly looking to evolve. The timing couldn’t be better.

‘Casting Kendall would bring a whole new generation of fans to the Bond franchise. She has international star power, a huge social reach, and that iconic Bond look.

‘For Kendall this could be a chance for her to prove she’s more than just a reality star model turned business mogul, and to step into an iconic cinematic legacy with her own twist of glamour.’

He added Kendall is a natural successor to models and former Bond Girls like Ursula Andress, Grace Jones and Olga Kurylenko.

Bookmaker Coral has made Kendall the odds-on favourite at 1/2. Also in the running for the part are Sydney Sweeney (2/1), Cara Delevingne (5/1) and Margot Robbie (6/1).

On Kendall potentially copying her sister Kim in the world of acting, Nick added: ‘She’s appeared in adverts and don’t forget she’s been on our screens since she was 11 as a reality star so she knows all the right angles and she also knows how to be directed too.

‘She may even give her sister Kim a run for her money and outshine her reviews for All’s Fair! Which wont be hard!’

The most recent release in the film franchise was the 2021 movie No Time to Die, which marked the final performance from Daniel Craig in the legendary role of the secret agent.

Craig, 57, told The Sunday Times last year about the impact the role, which he played across five feature films from 2006 thru 2021, had on his career as a whole.

‘Early on with Bond I thought I had to do other work, but I didn’t,’ Craig said. ‘I was becoming a star, whatever that means, and people wanted me in their films. Incredible.’

He added, ‘Most actors are out of work for large chunks so you take your job offers – but they left me empty. Then, bottom line, I got paid.

‘I was so exhausted at the end of a Bond it would take me six months to recover emotionally. I always had the attitude that life must come first and, when work came first for a while, it strung me out.’
