Kelsea Ballerini had a special guest feature in her romantic new music video for latest song, First Rodeo, which she premiered on Wednesday.
The country pop star, 31, enlisted the help of her boyfriend Chase Stokes, 31, to play her romantic interest in the clip.
The pair — who started dating in early 2023 — were seen in a number of fleeting moments throughout the video. At one point, the songbird was seen running into the arms of her shirtless beloved on the beach.
Another moment sees them holding hands in bed together, though the Outer Banks star’s face is just out of view.
First Rodeo is an offering from her upcoming album Patterns, set to be released October 25.

The video starts out with Ballerini — who filed for divorce from her ex-husband Morgan Evans after nearly five years of marriage in August 2022 — lying in the sand on the beach, wearing a pale pink dress.
‘I like the feeling runnin’ with the wind/ That’s why I went and did what I did/ He and I both had our guns to sling/ Damn, that showdown was embarrassing,’ she sings in the first verse.
Later on Kelsea meets her other half on the beach, as she sings the chorus: ‘I rode off into the sunset/ The red dust hadn’t been kicked up yet/ Thought I knew all of the ropes/ Thought I could ride like a pro.’
‘Never knew I’d have a round two/ I fell off, babe, but I found you/ Take my heart, but take it slow/ ‘Cause this ain’t my first rodeo.’
Throughout the video there are shots of Kelsea and Chase holding hands and him giving her a kiss on the forehead, as well as the blonde beauty riding a carousel and later a boat.
‘Let ‘em run, baby, don’t you hold your horses back/ Love’s the wild, wild west, ain’t gotta tell me that/ But when you put your arms around me, I don’t mind/ You make me forget about the last time,’ she sings.
The romantic number continues with Kelsea expressing that whatever the future holds, it’s worth taking the risk.
‘Even though we never know/ If we’re gonna make it out alive/ But when it comes to me and you, I can’t not try/ Ain’t it crazy, baby, how I’d never know you/ If I never rode/ Off into the sunset.’

The clip included stunning visuals from the beach
At one point Ballerini sings at a beach while sitting on a pile of luggage. Later she arrives at a hotel room, where she sips on a martini glass and watches a rodeo on a large screen.
The singer promoted the new clip on her Instagram, writing, ‘first rodeo is all about embracing fragility, hope, and getting back on the horse. the video is out now, featuring the handsome human who inspired the song and made me love sunsets again.’
On another post she shared a number of snaps from the video, including one of her and Chase holding hands, as well as some behind-the-scenes footage, writing: ‘first rodeo is out now video today at 4 ct. FAVORITE LYRIC….GO!’
She also shared a clip of her and her gal pals dancing to the song on a boat. The star went on to post a note with handwritten lyrics to the song.
Ballerini said that after a public breakup, it’s common to feel emotionally drained and unsure about love and relationships in a statement with People.
‘Listen, there’s a reality that an inner monologue post public breakup is, “I feel washed up on the heart front. I feel like I don’t know how to do this anymore,”‘ said shared.
‘But at the end of the day, choosing love is bigger, and the honesty of saying please take it slow and be patient with me can actually be a beautiful and connective moment.’
“First Rodeo encapsulates that conversation, and more so, that decision within self to be vulnerable and open and allowing the hope of it all to seep back in.’
She previously teased the video in a TikTok video this month.

‘This song is probably the first love song I wrote for this record. I was so ready to update my life and this song is really the only callback to anything in the past. It is really just to inform the song… Then it brings you into meeting somebody and knowing you are a little fragile and a little scared but at the end of the day, you love love and want to give it a shot.’
The singer started dating the actor in early 2023 after she went into his DMs and ‘just swan dove right on in.’
‘He’s been such a big, beautiful part of my life for almost two years now,’ Ballerini revealed to PEOPLE at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday in New York City.
‘I’m really proud of the art that he’s inspired,’ she explained. ‘And I’m really proud to be with someone who’s a truth-teller in his own art too. And to be aligned in that way and to share parts of our relationship and that kind of stuff, so openly and willingly, is really beautiful.’
The singer-songwriter’s fifth album, consisting of 15 new songs, is said to delve into such subject matter as love, vulnerability, and female friendships.
