Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ Shocking Toilet Paper Choice

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos left their fans in shock when they revealed their unusual bathroom design and their even more bizarre choice of toilet paper.

The married TV hosts explained that they stock up one of the bathrooms in their home with a particular type of toilet paper to ‘match’ the interior design.

They opened up about their bathroom on the set of their daytime talk show, Live with Kelly and Mark, last Tuesday.

Ripa and Consuelos, both 54, said that they stocked up on black toilet paper, so white toilet paper would not stand out in their all-black bathroom, per People

Ripa said that it ‘looks normal’ while her husband disagreed — which comes just over a week after the pair had clashed on air while discussing family matters.

‘Somebody — as a gift, as a joke — said that you need black toilet paper in this black bathroom,’ Ripa recalled as she explained their design choices.

‘And you know what? It actually looks normal because the white toilet paper was the thing that looked really strange.’

The All My Children actor chimed in to share his differing opinion and added: ‘I will say, it doesn’t feel normal.’

Ripa then admitted, ‘Nobody really uses that toilet,’ before her husband interjected and said, ‘I have.’

‘Well, there you go. I have not used the black toilet tissue. I just like the way it looks. It blends into the wall,’ Ripa said.

During their interview with the outlet, the pair also revealed their playful nicknames for their individual dressing rooms on their morning show set.

Ripa said it was ‘Mark’s idea’ that they named their respective dressing rooms as ‘Lucy and Desi’ as inspired by Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.

‘Lucy and Desi. Desi is the guy’s bathroom, Lucy is the girl’s,’ Consuelos explained.

Ripa then added: ‘There’s like a Lucy and a Desi, and he likes that. So that’s what he named our dressing rooms. It’s kind of cool.’

Last year, the couple opened up the doors of their multimillion townhouse in New York City for an Architectural Digest video tour.

Ripa and Consuelos have been married nearly 30 years and share three children — daughter Lola, 24, and sons Michael, 28, and Joaquin, 22.

During their home tour, Ripa said that they have lived in the place for over 12 years and called the townhouse their ‘favorite place on earth.’

‘We’ve moved several times in our lives, but no matter where we go, for me, this is my forever home,’ Ripa said while showing off their primary bedroom.

‘When I walked in here, I was like, “This is the final place where I will live.” I love this house so much.’
